Hello, traveller! My name is Mauricio; we don´t know each other (yet), and I think we already share one thing in common: passion and curiosity for traveling. Now, some other aspects of me are that I also consider myself a foodie enthusiast and lover of art, architecture, and design, especially when it comes to pottery and woodworking. I graduated from architecture school here in Morelia; back then I got into guiding tourists through our city as a summer activity to help pay for my studies. I discovered the best way for me to learn something is by talking about it with people sharing the same interests. Let´s discover together the region I live in. I consider myself an easygoing person. I like the hills and the forests better; outdoors, in general, are great for me since I enjoy contemplating, besides the architecture and the appealing bustle of lights and crowds in the urban context, which I also like to explore, I’m always open to listening stories, sharing the things I know and always open to learn something new. I hope to assist travelers in exploring Morelia and its surroundings beyond the typical information found on the internet. To make a team and create a unique experience during your trip to Morelia.

A singularity happened in Michoacán back in 1943. A volcano was born, unofrtunately San José de las Colchas became ruins, as this village got engulfed by lava when the volcano erupted. This trip takes us to a region known as Meseta Purepecha, where we will walk across the path of basaltic rocks until the top of the volcano. We will visit places to eat, ruins, and beautiful landscapes.
- Driving to Angahuan, southwest from Morelia. - A stop in San Lorenzo for a meal (or a place of your choosing). - Reaching our destination, it's time to begin the walk! - We make a stop in the old San José de las Colchas ruins. - Continue our trip to the top of the volcano. - If desired we can make a stop for snacks and drinks on our way back, in order to refill energy. - Driving back to Morelia, the tour ends when I drop you off by your accommodation, safe and sound.

2024 Peugeot Rifter - This trip requires hiking through basaltic stones, or if we take the short cut to the top, walking up to reach the top of the volcano; therefore, it is not recommended for people with chronic respiratory or cardiac conditions, women in delicate pregnancy situations, or any other condition resulting in an impediment of the moderate physical effort required for this trip.
