Hello, traveller! My name is Mauricio; we don´t know each other (yet), and I think we already share one thing in common: passion and curiosity for traveling. Now, some other aspects of me are that I also consider myself a foodie enthusiast and lover of art, architecture, and design, especially when it comes to pottery and woodworking. I graduated from architecture school here in Morelia; back then I got into guiding tourists through our city as a summer activity to help pay for my studies. I discovered the best way for me to learn something is by talking about it with people sharing the same interests. Let´s discover together the region I live in. I consider myself an easygoing person. I like the hills and the forests better; outdoors, in general, are great for me since I enjoy contemplating, besides the architecture and the appealing bustle of lights and crowds in the urban context, which I also like to explore, I’m always open to listening stories, sharing the things I know and always open to learn something new. I hope to assist travelers in exploring Morelia and its surroundings beyond the typical information found on the internet. To make a team and create a unique experience during your trip to Morelia.

Lake of Pátzcuaro holds in its surroundings a vast collection of cultural heritage and new mixtures of modernity and tradition. I would say my preferred way of exploring this social phenomenon is through cuisine. The combination of old methods with modern ways of cooking has wonderful peculiar tastes, but also great history and many stories yet to be told. Dear traveler, as you can see, one of my biggest motivations and passions is food and all that may come surrounding it, like stories, atmospheres, smells, and scenarios. I would be delighted if you would join me in my quest for stories throughout food. I'll be glad to share what I've learned so far.
- The archeological site Tzintzuntzan; there we will have lunch at a renowned traditional cuisine before visiting the old ‘Yácatas’, a ceremonial group of purepecha’s pyramid-like structures. - Ihuatzio, another archeological site. - Pátzcuaro, we will visit the cultural center ‘Antiguo Colegio Jesuita, house of eleven patios and we can take a time for coffee and walk around the main square. - We’ll continue to drive west around the lake across the villages settled there until we reach ‘Hacienda Porumbo', where we will have the possibility to learn basics of mexican cuisine. - Oponguio, we will visit a distillery where we’ll learn how mezcal is produced. - Santa Fé de la Laguna before going back to Morelia. - The tour ends when I drop you back, safe and sound in your accommodation.
