Hello, and thank you for your interest! I'm Héctor, and I'm probably the shortest, most enthusiastic licensed guide and interpreter in the city of Campeche. I have been working as a tour guide since 2019 throughout the whole Yucatan Peninsula, and currently being based in San Francisco de Campeche, I offer cultural tours and immersive experiences designed for guests seeking more than just sightseeing. I'm also a professor at the University of Campeche, so you may understand my passion for teaching and, most importantly, to share all about my city and its wonders. Campeche is a wonderful hidden gem in Mexico: the perfect mix of calm spots for sunset photographing, colorful Colonial pastel-painted facades and a sense of quietness, all bundled up with our Mayan heritage and modern-life Mexican experiences. I believe in unique adventures that add a thread in the weave of life. I have been travelling to many parts of the world, and nevertheless, I truly feel a strong connection with my own birthplace. I understand how travelling changes people's lives, and it's now it's within my hands to offer it to anyone willing to listen, feel and embrace. I myself am specialized in Mayan culture and UNESCO heritage, Mexican history and food experiences for all ages. My main goal is to make my visitors feel like "campechanos", locals spending time with a good friend. Whether you feel like taking a walking trip into the UNESCO-protected downtown in the city, a four-hour getaway to the Mayan ruins of Edzná (with a bit of traditional pastries!) or being involved with local artisans within their own homes, I hope you get to experience it all through my eyes and senses. So, if you're looking for a cultural or natural experience that offers depth, authenticity, and insight, I would be delighted to assist you during your stay in Campeche.

Explore the Pomuch cemetery, where human remains are displayed in full view. Taste cochinita pibil cooked underground in Campeche soil, and visit the caves where jipi-japa hats are woven. Discover the Maya artisan region of Campeche by learning about its rich funerary traditions, savouring earth-cooked cuisine, and meeting artisans who work with ancestral techniques. The tour begins in San Francisco de Campeche early in the morning. We’ll visit the open niches of Pomuch, where human remains are exhumed and lovingly cared for “to give life after death.” You’ll also try the village stone-oven bread, the famous "pan de pichón". Breakfast follows in Hecelchakán with traditional buried "cochinita pibil", plus a walk through the small local market. In Bécal, you’ll experience hat-making inside limestone caves. Doña Chary will guide us through her family workshop, active for more than 50 years beneath her home. We’ll return to Campeche, or you may choose to be dropped off in Mérida.
Pickup — Campeche We can meet you at your hotel or convenient location for pickup in my comfortable i10 Hyundai vehicle. Head to Pomuch • Enter a local cemetery where bones lie in outdoor lid-open boxes, carefully placed for observation. At the end, enjoy a snack: traditional "pan de pichón" (ham, cheese, and jalapeño) in the town square. Hecelchakán • Try the local "cochinita pibil", considered the best in the Yucatan Peninsula. Available in tortas, trancas, or tacos. No vegetarian option here. After breakfast, we may visit the small city market. Becal • At Becal's hat workshops, doña Chary will show her family's cave: once natural, now used for handling "jipi-japa" fibers, using humidity and cooler temperature to weave complex patterns. Return — Campeche/Mérida We can drop you at your hotel or convenient location in Campeche or Mérida
