During this captivating tour, we'll follow a charming hiking trail for about half an hour. This scenic route will immerse us in a unique and preserved ecosystem: the mangrove. We'll marvel at their enchanting landscapes and the diverse flora and fauna that thrive in them. Besides our immersion in the heart of the mangrove, we will visit a vanilla plantation where you'll discover all the fascinating secrets related to the cultivation and harvesting of this prized spice, which flavours so many dishes & desserts around the world. I'll introduce you to one of the vanilla producers who'll share insights about the different stages of its production, from the pollination of the flowers to the curing of the pods. Feel free to ask any questions! This tour promises to be an enriching experience, where nature and culture meet, awakening our senses and our curiosity.
Your Fort De France tour itinerary
-After picking you up from Fort-de-France, we'll head towards the Caravelle's peninsula, located in the middle of Martinique's Atlantic coast. -As we drive across this peninsula, we'll enjoy the beautiful scenery along our road. -After a roughly 40 minute long scenic drive, we'll reach the end of the road and step off our vehicle to step inside a dry forest. -We'll then embark on an enjoyable 30 minute trek under the trees which will lead us to the mangrove. -Once in the mangrove, we'll walk alongside a wooden path, keeping our eyes open to possibly observe birds, crabs and fish. -Next, we'll trek back to our vehicle to drive to Trinité for a guided visit to 'La Kaz à Vanilles' and its impressive garden. -Before we go back to Fort-de-France, you'll get to buy pods and spices directly at their little shop. -At last, I'll drop you off where I picked you up from.
