Overview of your Fort De France tour
During this captivating tour, we'll follow a charming walk in the incredible garden of "La Kaz à Vanilles", where you'll discover all the fascinating secrets related to the cultivation and harvesting of this prized spice, which flavours so many dishes & desserts around the world. The vanilla producer will share insights about the different stages of its production, from the pollination of the flowers to the curing of the pods. You will realise for sure how difficut it is to grow vanilla ! Besides our immersion in nature, I'll introduce you to one of our rum distillery called "La Favorite". In this distillery, you will be impressed by an old steam engeen from 1906, which is really the heart of this place, and still working and giving the rythm for all the production process. You will be able if you want, to taste different types of rum and buy it or other souvenirs in their nice shop. This tour promises to be an enriching experience, where nature and culture meet, awakening our senses and our curiosity
Your Fort De France tour itinerary
-After picking you up from Fort-de-France, we'll head towards the Caravelle's peninsula, located in the middle of Martinique's Atlantic coast. -After a roughly 40 minute long scenic drive, we'll reach the Vanilla producer and its impressive garden for a 45min guided visit among tropical plants, trees and creole spices. -Before we go back to Fort-de-France, you'll get to buy pods and spices directly at their little shop. -We'll then take the road back to Fort de France and stop in a charming rum distillery. -At last, I'll drop you off where I picked you up from.
