Old town Takayama & Food walking tour around my hometown

Takayama has old township where you can see old houses made by wood and this area is more than 200 years old, dating from Edo era and on this tour you will understand how this city was built, more than 400 years ago. One Samurai(Kanamori Nagachika) built this city 16th century. When he came Takayama city at first he constructed river and put on mad and made for merchant houses and these house become 'Old town ship'. In this old town besides street we have lots of shops but back yard of shops local people living inside. You can also see special floats stock house, 'Kura' in Japanese, and special floats. It needs more than 100 thousand USD to keep it once a decade, but, we are continuing our floats and Festival for more than 200 years and it was nominated as intangible world heritage in 2016. Not only walking historical street but also you can enjoy local food with me! Anyway we have special cultures compare with other area of Japan. I am sure you will enjoy this experience.

This is walking tour and I will take you to the following places: - I will first take you to Oldtownship - In the oldtownship I will explain about what is structure of this street why these buildings are all wood & black color. And stock room of float for festival. - Nakabashi red bridge On Nakabashi red bridge, you can see & take a photo very beautiful scene. - Jinya, Jinya was political office but now we are using as a kind of museum -Honmachi Honmachi area is mordern area in this city. you can see special system that to prevent from fire. -Yamazakura shrine we can see special things here also to hope wishes. but it is just for our area. -Some Food shops You can eat some of local sweets / rice dumpling / Sushi / Kushi-Okaki / Kurikinton /Rice cracker/ etc. .
