Do you know where the famous Mt. Fuji is in Japan? Geographically Mt. Fuji is just located on the border between Shizuoka and Yamanashi. Southern part belongs in Shizuoka and Northern part in Yamanashi. Interestingly the feature of Mt. Fuji is completely different as for view and attractions from two states. From Shizuoka, sunlight shines on the hillside of the mountain all the year. We can see its brightly iconic spectacles combined with the ocean, tea plantation or a bullet train. Whereas, from Yamanashi, snow covers on the top half of the mountain in winter and remains until early summer. Gorgeous natural beauty with Fuji Five Lakes and Aokigahara Sea of Trees. Why did I mention such a story? Honestly I was born in Shizuoka and now live in Yamanashi! That proves I know all about Mt. Fuji and its surrounding area. Overview of your Shizuoka tour
Fujinomiya, located on the southwestern foot of Mt. Fuji, is the gateway city with the main Sengen Shrine built for the purpose of worshiping this holy mountain. The shrine is the exact place where numbers of pilgrims have started to climb the mountain since ancient times. You know, Mt. Fuji was listed on UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites as the "sacred place and source of artistic inspiration" in 2013. Fujimomiya and its surrounding area have an abundance of fascinations given by the bless of Mt. Fuji. So many sights worth to see, I believe that you do not have enough time to fulfill your desire in only one day! It takes 30 minutes from Shimizu by railways.
