Hello, I'm Akari. Thank you for checking my profile. I'm originally from Kumamoto, in the southern part of Japan. At my university, I studied International Relations in Tokyo. I worked as a staff member of the Japanese government international youth program, "Ship for World Youth Program" and travel around the world by cruise ship. Then, since I love the book "Anne of Green Gables" from my childhood, I lived and worked in PEI and NL, Canada, for 2.5 years. After that, I returned to Japan, became self-employed, and started offering tours in Kyoto. I have a private tour, a Maiko-san tour (Maiko-san is a Geisha apprentice), and a sake tour, etc. After living in Kyoto for over ten years, I came back to Kumamoto, my hometown, in the spring of 2026. I still have some tours in Kyoto, and I have a tour team there. So I spend 3/4 weeks in Kumamoto, 1/4 in Kyoto. I love traveling. So not only Kumamoto and Kyoto, but also I'm happy to guide mainly West Japan. I'm happy to guide you to Kagoshima, Setouchi Inland Sea, Tokyo, Yokohama, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, etc., if you have requests.

Welcome to Kumamoto. This is the hometown where I grew up. Kumamoto is known as a castle town. Kumamoto Castle, built in 1601, is a symbol of Kumamoto and one of Japan's three most famous castles. This tour takes you through the castle town, sharing its history and culture, while you shop, enjoy local cuisine, see architecture by the world-renowned Tadao Ando, and stroll around Lake Ezu, a popular local spot for relaxation.
