Modena walking tour with tastings

Sacha is an amazing tour guide. She knew we were traveling that day from Bologna and met us at the train station (even helping with our luggage) to make sure we had smooth travels to Modena! Once we arrived, we deposited our luggage and began our tour. We learned so much! Modena has an interesting history, including with the d'Este family, and Sacha brought this history to life for us. We saw the former d'Este palace, Palazzo Ducale, a grand Baroque palace in Piazza Roma that now serves as the Italian Military Academy. We then ventured to Piazza Grande where we learned interesting stories about the town's main square's history, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, and how it came about to be the main square instead of the former Roman Forum area. We spent time discovering the unique aspects of the stunning 12th-century Romanesque cathedral's exterior and interior too. I don't want to give away all its fun and unique facts - you have to go! We wrapped up our tour with a walk & lunch in Mercato Albinelli, a great local market with various food stalls. It was fantastic and Sacha had already arranged a table for us to enjoy our meal. She is amazing and so thoughtful. She even took care for my friend, who is vegan, to have a perfect meal too.

Excellent tour guide! We booked Sacha for tours of both Bologna and Modena and could not have been happier. She is incredibly knowledgable, enthusiastic, and a pleasure to spend the day with. In addition, her English is outstanding. Highly recommend!

Our guide Sacha was excellent. She gave us a walking tour of Modena and showed us the historical and cultural highlights. She also pointed out some fine shops and restaurants. She was fun to be around and made our tour, which was in the rain, enjoyable.
