Hello everyone and welcome to this beautiful land of astonishing architecture, great food and warmth atmosphere. My name is Sacha, I am a licensed tour guide and I will be more than happy to help you discover the hidden treasures of this region. I have always been passionate about travelling, art and different languages and cultures. That's the reason why I have studied foreign languages and history of art. After my Bachelor's degree in Cultural Heritage in Venice, I moved to Bologna where I got my Master's degree in History of art. That's when I have decided to turn my main interests into my job and became an Emilia-Romagna tour guide. My idea of tour is to get you in touch with the local spirit and culture of this land. I will share with you the history and the artistic heritage of this beautiful cities, as well as its typical laid back lifestyle, without forgetting the amazing gastronomic tradition. I am glad to personalise my tours focusing on what you are more interested in. You will be spoiled for choices! - National tour guide license - Master's degree in History of art - Bachelor's degree in Cultural Heritage I am not a driver. Modena is a hidden gem, not yet discovered by mass tourism, a place where artisan workshops, hand-made traditional food, and historical family-run shops are still at every corner. It is just a little town, still its name it's known in the world in many different fields as synonymous with excellence. Some examples? Modena has one of the few restaurants in the world with three Michelin stars, Osteria Francescana, which has also been voted twice as the best restaurant in the world and the city's gastronomic tradition is renowned worldwide. Modena is also home to Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati, as well as has been for one of the most successful tenors of all time, Luciano Pavarotti. Not enough? Modena is known for outstanding medieval architecture, being its Cathedral considered one of the most extraordinary examples of Romanesque style, part of Unesco's heritage sites. Whether you are looking for art and architecture, amazing food, fun or all of these things, Modena is a perfect destination.
- Piazza Grande with its outstanding Cathedral and iconic Ghirlandina tower, all part of the Unesco heritage sites - Saint Geminiano Cathedral, one of the most important Romanesque churches in Italy, - Palazzo Comunale with its historical frescoed rooms - Via Emilia, the main street of the region (which gives it its name) since the Roman age; - Former Jewish Ghetto area, with its Synagogue (outside) - Piazza Roma with the Ducal Palace, the historical residence of the Este family, tody the seat of a Military Academy. - Mercato Abinelli, where we will stop for some tastings: traditional cold cuts and local wine will definitely be part of our little feast.
