4 hrs tour of Calcutta Highlights

Brototi (that’s the nearest phonetic spelling of the way her name is pronounced in Bengali) is cheerful, engaging, knowledgeable and a great companion. We were a party of 4, on occasion 5, none of us having visited Kolkata before - well I had but 50 years ago - and she introduced us to her city with enthusiasm and pride. Before we arrived, she was keen to find out what our interests were, so that none of the 6 days we were there, was wasted. Brototi is obviously influential in the Kolkata tour industry as she was able to source very comfortable and well maintained minibuses with chauffeurs for us to get around in, reliable taxi services to and from the airport and tickets to events. One further point I should mention - one never had to wait too long for a response to a WhatsApp, however complicated the query! In all honesty, we couldn’t have found a more pleasing companion and guide. Thank you very much, Brototi!

After a very successful day tour with Anirban and Bratati in 2020, I again asked Bratati to arrange a private group tour for my group of 9 adults. We all had an excellent curated day around Kolkata's less visited places. Her knowledge and commentary were very informative with just the right amount of detail to keep us interested and entertained. Her restaurant suggestion for lunch was exceptional and proved to be one of the best meals we had in India!! In addition to the private transport, she arranged to get us around our day tour she also arranged all our various hotel shuttles both from and back to the airport at very competitive rates - highly recommended in itself! Overall a great value day by a very professional and personable guide.

Bratati's passion for Kolkata’s sights was evident throughout the tour, and we gained a deeper understanding of this complex, vibrant city. Given our limited time, the itinerary she curated offered a perfect snapshot of Kolkata’s history, culture, artistry, and modern life. Highlights included the street of artisans, flower market, Bengali lunch, Jain temple, each stop compelling in its own way. I wholeheartedly recommend Bratati as a guide—her knowledge and warmth make her the perfect companion for discovering the magic of Kolkata.

We had such a delightful day. Bratati has a great knack of weaving stories into her tours so it isn’t just a factual history ‘lesson’. Her knowledge is vast, but it’s her humour, love of her city and ease that make spending hours with her fun, enriching and just a damn fine time. You couldn’t ask for more ..

Great half day tour with Bratati on our day of arrival in Calcutta. Was a perfect intro to the city for my wife on her first visit. Bratati has a lovely way about her and is very knowledgeable about her home city and i would definitely recommend her services as a guide. The only thing that would have made the tour even better would have been if she could have sourced a local numberplate for me :-)
