Overview of your Bhopal tour
In this tour of Bhimbetka we will walk through the world's oldest rock shelter and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nestled in the Vindhya hills of Madhya Pradesh, where more than 400 of the 700 rock shelters contain rock paintings that illustrate hunting, dancing, community life, and animals, with some of the oldest paintings dating back over 30,000 years. Also the oldest known cupules in the world are located here which dates back to between 200,000 and 500,000 BC

Bhimbetka Rock Shelter - 1-Day Itinerary Distance to Bhimbetka (from Bhopal) - 45 km (1.5 hours by road) 8:30AM Departure from Bhopal - After pick up, we will begin our journey to Bhimbetka. On our way we can stop for Tea or Snacks. 10: AM Arrival at Bhimbetka Rock Shelters -Enter the UNESCO World Heritage Site. -Brief introduction about Bhimbetka’s archaeological and cultural significance. -Walk through the main cluster of rock shelters. -View prehistoric cave paintings, dating back from the Paleolithic to the Medieval period. 12:30 PM – Scenic Nature Walk & Photo Session -Explore the surrounding Vindhya hills and natural rock formations. 01:30 PM – Lunch Break Packed lunch or stop at a nearby restaurant. Relax sit somewhere in forest . 02:30 PM – Visit Bhojpur (Optional Add-On) A short detour to see one of the oldest Shiva temple of Bhopal, Bhojeshwar Temple, built by Raja Bhoj. 03:30 PM – Depart for Bhopal 05:00 PM – Arrival in Bhopal Drop-off at hotel, railway station, or airport.
