>> Guided tours with heart and brain << Hello and moin, as we say here in Northern Germany. My name is Antje and I would be more than happy to show you my lovely homeland Mecklenburg-West-Pomerania! I have been working as a tour guide for more than 10 years now and I do it with passion. What I like most is: - to tell stories that you will remember - to incorporate personal insights and stories into my tours - to show you things that you normally just would pass by - to give you "light bulb moments" - to set local history into a larger frame to show how things are related with each other - to get in good contact with my guests and have interesting conversations - to learn from each other - to have a nice day with you. :-) I am interested in history, culture and nature. Therefore I read books in these fields and enlarge my knowledge, so that I can share it with you. I have been traveling a lot, I also worked on a cruise liner, but whenever I come back home to Mecklenburg-West-Pomerania I feel that this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. And I would like to share this love with you! What my guests told me after they were on a tour with me: "Thanks for sharing your personal story with us. It meant a lot. ", "You are an excellent guide. ", "We have learnt a lot today. ", "You have a lovely voice. " Corona-Update: I am fully vaccinated. I have been working as a guide for more than 10 years. I am a licensed church guide. I am not a driver-guide. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

We will visit the old Hanseatic town Wismar. Beautifully located at a bay of the Baltic Sea Wismar was founded already in the 13th century. It became known for its dark beer, called Mumme. Wismar actually built its wealth on the export of beer and the wealth of that time can still be seen in the gabled houses and the massive brick churches in the city centre, which nowadays even belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage List. We drive further through a lovely landscape to Kühlungsborn, a popular seaside resort at the Baltic coast. Here we will see an old watch tower from GDR-times. I will give you an insight about life in GDR and why and how people tried to escape the country. Last stop will be the Minster of Doberan, my favorite church on earth, full of harmony and beauty. Built in the 13th century it is a pearl of brick architecture and houses the oldest main altar in art history. Learn about brick architecture and the life of the cistercian monks here in Doberan.
* Drive to Wismar and sightseeing tour in Wismar (Market square with Water Art, St. Mary's Church, St. George Church, Old port) * Drive to Kühlungsborn and sightseeing tour to the watch tower (information about GDR and sea side resort architecture), time for lunch at the sea or a snack (on your own expenses) and free time * Drive to Bad Doberan, outside- and inside-visit of the Minster of Doberan, optional: visit of the cloister store with regional products * Drive back to Warnemünde
