My niece and I had a fantastic tour. It was everything that we had hoped for and more. Our tour guide Antje and the driver Thomas were awesome. They were very accommodating and showed us great respect and kindness. Antje created a custom tour for us. We got to see ALL of the villages and churches where my German ancestors (from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) lived, worked, worshipped, were baptized, married and were buried. This fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine. I now have answers to so many questions about how my people lived for over 500 years. Antje was very knowledgeable about the history of the area that we toured and freely shared her knowledge. She even got us a private tour of the church in Gadebusch where my great grandmother lived. We were also delighted by the "oboe/organ" concert at the church. I would wholeheartedly recommend Antje as a tour guide.

What a wonderful day we had touring with Antje and her driver, Thomas. We learned so much and saw so much in our 8 hours with them. Antje's knowledge of history, culture, etc made her the best tour guide we could have had for this excursion. She is from Schwerin so her enthusiasm and knowledge is a great combination. Thomas was also interesting to talk to. Both he and Antje really gave us much more knowledge about the whole East -West Germany history and what it was like to live through it. We learned so much from them plus had a wonderful day in both Schwerin and Rostock! Thank you for a great day! If we come back we will definitely book with them again!
We really got lucky by having Antje take 6 adults on our tour a few days ago. It was absolutely one of the best tours any of us have ever been on. Antje was knowledgeable, very personable, and a pure pleasure to get to know. And her driver and vehicle were also perfect for 3 couples. We toured Schwerin (the castle), Minster at Bad Doberan, and a city tour of Rostock. We all feel that we couldn't have chosen a better tour guide for the day. Your Rostock tour itinerary
- pick up at the cruise terminal - about 1 hour drive to Schwerin - walking tour through the palace gardens (which are mostly not included in regular shore excursions) - inside visit of the castle (on your own, with an audio guide) - walking tour through the castle garden and into town, where I will show you the major sights - time for lunch and free time or climbing the spire of the Dom for a spectacular view over Schwerin - outside visit of the Dom, where you will learn how building masters planed a church in medieval times and what symbols we still can see - about 1 hour drive back to Rostock - walking tour in Rostock, where you will see the major sights - inside visit of St. Mary's church with its Astronomical clock from 1472 - drive back to your cruise liner The castle Schwerin is closed on Mondays.
