>> Guided tours with heart and brain << Hello and moin, as we say here in Northern Germany. My name is Antje and I would be more than happy to show you my lovely homeland Mecklenburg-West-Pomerania! I have been working as a tour guide for more than 10 years now and I do it with passion. What I like most is: - to tell stories that you will remember - to incorporate personal insights and stories into my tours - to show you things that you normally just would pass by - to give you "light bulb moments" - to set local history into a larger frame to show how things are related with each other - to get in good contact with my guests and have interesting conversations - to learn from each other - to have a nice day with you. :-) I am interested in history, culture and nature. Therefore I read books in these fields and enlarge my knowledge, so that I can share it with you. I have been traveling a lot, I also worked on a cruise liner, but whenever I come back home to Mecklenburg-West-Pomerania I feel that this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. And I would like to share this love with you! What my guests told me after they were on a tour with me: "Thanks for sharing your personal story with us. It meant a lot. ", "You are an excellent guide. ", "We have learnt a lot today. ", "You have a lovely voice. " Corona-Update: I am fully vaccinated. I have been working as a guide for more than 10 years. I am a licensed church guide. I am not a driver-guide. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

This tour is made for families who want to see the beautiful Hanseatic town Rostock and spend a pleasant time in Europe's best Zoo (category: 500. 000-1. 000. 000 visitors per year). As a mother I know how to adapt a sightseeing tour for kids, where the next playground is and where you get the best ice cream. We will visit the 800-years old town Rostock with its beautiful university square, the gabled merchants house, the typical brick churches. But apart from dates and facts we will find out how high the hairdos of Baroque duchesses were and why they had flea traps in their clothes. We will learn to communicate via fan-language and learn about secret symbols at churches. Then we will visit the Zoo of Rostock, which was prized Europes best Zoo. Beautifully located in a forest it is known for the Darwineum with its Orang-Utans and Gorillas as well as for the Polarium with its Polar bears and penguins. Come and see it!
* We meet in Warnemünde and take tram and train to the city centre of Rostock. * Walking tour in Rostock where your will see the major sights from the outside, like University Square, Cloister of the Holy Cross, Town Hall, Gabled Houses, St. Mary's Church. Learn what an arrow stork is and how long it took to make a brick in medieval times. * We take the tram to the Zoo of Rostock and visit the Darwineum and Polarium (both with English descriptions), go to the petting zoo and watch the other animals. * Next to the Zoo is a Microbrewery with a restaurant: Depending on how much time you want to spend in the Zoo and depending on how hungry you are, we can arrange a stop there. If you prefer to stay in town after the tour for some more free time and shopping, let me know. You will get the tickets for the public transportation and I will tell you what else you could do and see in Rostock and how you find your way back. If you stay in a hotel in Rostock, the tour can be adjusted - please contact me

We will use public transportation (train and tram) to get from Warnemünde to Rostock and back as well as to get to the zoo, which gives you a local experience. In town and in the zoo we will have quite an amount of walking on even ground. We will walk at your pace.
