After living in the west, north, south and east of Germany and studying at the universities of Bonn, Munich, Denpasar (Bali, Indonesia) and Taipei (Taiwan) I moved to Nuremberg more than 20 years ago for the first time. It was not a love at first sight, so I moved to the United States of America for 3 years, then my husband's job brought us back to Nuremberg again. Only then I realized what a great place to live! An old, but modern city full of live, culture and history. Since 2006 I love to show the beauty and vibrance of the city to guests coming from all corners of the world and support delegations, journalists, influencer and film teams. In its 1000 years of history Nuremberg was always a center of the time, then and now: Medieval period, industrial era of the 19th century, Third Reich and 21st century. In my tours I like to provide you a good of overview of all this different periods. Due to my more almost 20 years of experience as a certified tour guide in Nuremberg, I can guide you through the old city of Nuremberg, Imperial Castle, city hall, St. Johns graveyard, baroque gardens, beer-cellars, art bunker, former Nazi Party Rallye Grounds, Memorium Nuremberg Trials and much more. The situation of nowadays Nuremberg are always a part of my tours as well. Seasonal events will not be forgotten. For example: The Christmas city Nuremberg with its Christkindlesmarkt (Christmas Market), one of the oldest you can find in Germany. Claudia met us in the busy market place and have us a history introduction of Nuremberg, before winding our way to the castle, to accommodate a better pace. She had good insights on her city and lots of history. She found interesting spots to share insights and photo opportunities & retuned us to our starting point. We received a few recommendations for dining we requested and directions to another point. Hot day, but lovely afternoon tour. We would recommend Claudia.
Claudia was an excellent guide and customized her tour to suit our groups needs and interests. She was very knowledgeable about the city of Nurnburg, both past & present. Excellent tour of the Old City Hauptmark. Claudia spoke excellent english and was very accommodating. I would recommend her tours to everyone.
Suggested Itinerary: * Start at the Main Market Square (Hauptmarkt) right in the centre of the old city * Walk along the river passing by the Hospital of the Holy Spirit (Heilig Geist Spital), Meat Bridge (Fleischbruecke), Hangman Bridge (Henkersteg), former wine depot, White Tanners Alley (Weißgerbergergasse) * Then up the only hill in town to the Old Mansion of Albrecht Durer and Imperial Castle with its stunning view of the old city from the top of the hill. * On the way down we pass by St. Sebald Church and the Town Hall to finish the tour at the Beautiful Fountain (Schoener Brunnen) on the Main Market Sqare.
