In 2013, I passed through Berlin by accidentâand never left. Iâm Ben, a history teacher and certified tour guide, and even after all these years, I still find it incredible that I call this city home. Born and raised in Israel, I grew up with the idea of Germany as the "forbidden land" and Berlin as the "capital of evil." But perhaps thatâs exactly what drew me hereâthe city's layers of history, its resilience, and its power to transform. As a scholar of European and German history, I initially thought Berlin would be just another stop on my journey. Instead, I found a city unlike any otherâcomplex, fascinating, and impossible to ignore. Thatâs why I stayed. Thatâs why I became a guide. And thatâs why I love sharing my knowledge and passion for Berlin with visitors from around the world. What You Can Expect on My Tours đč History Comes Alive â Walk through Berlinâs most iconic landmarks and hidden gems as I bring the cityâs history to life, from Prussian grandeur to the rise and fall of the Berlin Wall. đč Jewish Heritage & Memory â As an expert on Jewish life and history, I provide an insiderâs perspective on the past, present, and future of Jewish life in Berlin and Germany. đč Beyond the Landmarks â Explore the stunning palaces of Potsdam, experience the vibrant energy of Kreuzbergâs street art scene, or embark on a food and culture tour that dives into Berlinâs diverse flavors. I also offer fully customized tours tailored to your interests. Why Tour With Me? â Certified Berlin Tour Guide â Certified Guide for Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial â Member of the Berlin Guides Association (BĂŒndnis Berliner StadtfĂŒhrer e.V.) â 10+ years of experience guiding private and group tours â Fluent in English & Hebrew Academic Credentials: đ M.A. in Political Economy (Labor Policies & Globalization) đ B.A in European History Whether you're visiting Berlin for the first time or returning for a deeper dive, Iâd love to show you a side of the city that most tourists never see. Letâs explore Berlin together!

From the poor Turkish work immigrants of the 60's, through the radical leftist AMTIFA activists of the 70's, the punks and dark rockers of the 80's, the Arab clans of the 90's, the Gay scene and the (now rapid) gentrification of the 2000's, Kreuzberg is by far the most interesting, diverse and colorful neighborhood in Berlin. In this food and culture tour, we sample some of Kreuzberg's most famous dishes while learning the story of the people who made them - locals, foreigners, immigrants, and renegades.
Kreuzberg is a big district, and we will combine walking and public transportation in order to visit some special food venues. The exact itinerary will vary according to the time of the day and seasonal offering and opening time, but you can expect to try out the famous Berliner Currywurst, a Turkish Cikofte, some Sudanese Makali and a German Kartofel pancake. Hopefully, your thirst will allow you to sample some local beers, brought to you directly from the "Spaeti" (Berlin slang for. . . a Kiosk) I am happy to customize this tour according to your food preferences or dietary restrictions, please contact me for a customized tour.
