Versailles meeting: Half-Day Tour in Versailles Skip the line (AM/PM)

We liked Kevin and found him knowledgeable, personable, and clearly familiar with Versailles. He shared a number of interesting facts and some personal anecdotes about visiting Versailles with his own family, which gave the tour a nice human touch. Our disappointment was less about his knowledge and more about how rigid the tour felt. Because of the water shortage, the fountains were only operating for a limited period, and we had originally hoped to structure the visit so that we could spend more time in the gardens and see them while the fountains were running. Unfortunately, the tour did not seem to adapt to that circumstance, and we missed seeing the fountains in operation, including the water features in the Bosquet de la Salle de Bal, which we had especially wanted to experience. We also would have appreciated more flexibility and more choices during the tour. Kevin seemed to be following a fairly fixed route and presentation, rather than asking whether we wanted to spend more time in one area, skip something, or choose between different options. At the end, he escorted us off the grounds while holding the tickets, which meant we were unable to remain in the gardens on our own. Kevin certainly knew the important facts about Versailles and delivered them clearly, but the experience felt more scripted than personalized. On other private tours we have had, the best guides have read the group, adjusted the pace, suggested alternatives, and helped us shape the experience around what interested us most. We would have enjoyed more of that kind of interaction here. Overall, Kevin was a good guide and we enjoyed spending time with him. With a little more flexibility and attention to what guests most want to experience on a particular day, we think the tour could be considerably better.

Kevin was an excellent tour guide and Versailles was amazing! We look forward to coming back to Paris and specifically requesting Kevin for other tours!

Kevin is an animated and well informed guide. He added extra benefit by tying the history of Versailles to our own history (American). It was truly a tailor made tour. I would recommend Kevin to anyone visiting Versailles.

Kevin was extremely knowledgeable, efficient and organized. It was an amazing tour and we loved skipping all of the lines and how quickly he was able to move us through. We would highly recommend using Kevin as a guide!
