Hola, my name is Jorge. I will be more than glad to be your local guide in Costa Rica, this paradise that I am lucky to call home. I have designed comprehensive one-day tours in order to help you discover and enjoy the amazing nature, culture and gastronomy of my country. In 2006, I participated in a sustainable tourism program in Sweden. After that, I knew what I wanted to do for a living. I have been working as a tour guide since 2008 and I love it but it was not until 2017 when I joined ToursByLocals. I delivered tours for its clients for a year and then I became part of the company's staff where I worked for 2 and a half years. I truly enjoyed this experience as I met and worked with many fellow tour guides from all around the world, as well as sharing with everybody from the offices. . . however, the outdoors have called me back and here I am again, ready for more tours and adventures :) As a traveler myself, I can say the best journeys I've had abroad have been in the company of local people. To me, sharing traditions and going to places with them is the best way to see another country, that's why I like offering tours that cover the "must-see" places but also more authentic experiences in off-the-beaten-path spots. Shore Excursion to Paradise
Overview of your Limon tour
Welcome to the "Rich Coast" as described by Admiral Christopher Columbus after arriving at the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica in 1502. Even though Columbus was most likely referring to another type of wealth, the truth is that this area is one of the richest in the country, naturally and culturally speaking. Located at only 40 min. from Limón Port (pick-up point), Cahuita National Park is our first stop of the day. We will look for amazing wildlife such as sloths, monkeys, toucans and other beautiful animals during our easy hike on flat trails with the lush rainforest at our right and the turquoise Caribbean Sea at our left. Next, the lively yet laid-back town of Puerto Viejo awaits us. This Jamaica-like feeling town features some of the most astonishing beaches in Costa Rica from shiny volcanic black to champagne-colored sand. "Puerto" is also well known for having fantastic gastronomy, especially its traditional Caribbean food that I am sure will satisfy and surprise your tastebuds.

J was amazing! He was very passionate about Costa Rica and about the places he was sharing with us. He expertly guided us to see sloths, monkeys, a coati, and even some of the coolest butterflies we've ever seen. He knew of a great place for us to enjoy lunch on a beautiful beach, and even stopped for us to have incredible locally made chocolate ice cream on our way back to our ship. Jorge V was highly knowledgeable about all aspects of nature. He took us on a flat, easily walkable and shady trail just inside the rain forest along beautiful Carribean beaches. The combination of waves and white sand, swimmable, beaches on one side and a lush, vibrant and varied rainforest on the other was stunning. It was paradise. We saw two types of monkeys, sloths, iquana, leaf caring ants, etc. He took us to a wonderful, shady beach front restuarant. He was very personable and a great guide.

- Pick up at Limón Port (outer gate)
- Drive to Cahuita National Park (40 min. approximate driving time)
- Hike through the National Park for 1:30hr approx. If schedule and weather permitting we can even enjoy the warm sea waters
- Drive to Puerto Viejo (15 min. away from Cahuita)
- Stroll around downtown Puerto Viejo
- Lunch
- Return to cruise ship terminal but not before getting ourselves some coffee or a delicious chocolate ice cream :P
