I am Chris, with +10 Years of experience in the role of a licensed English- and Cantonese-speaking tourguide based in Chongqing, China. Sometimes, I do translator job for some language-challenged tourists and people on business trips. I am born and raised in this city, so I am pround to say 100% local. Meanwhile, I am making progress in Spanish (if you could speak slowly, I could catch up with you, having good conversations). I am a licensed tourguide of China and work for myself, so profession, flexibility, no overheads guaranteed. To fulfill a satisfactory tour with me, I could offer: An in-depth city tour with an expert local guide following a tailored and well-paced itinerary Flexibility with your opinions and requests! You could propose your preferred sites, OR, follow mine. Cost-saving budget, I go without those overhead expenses and hassles of a traditional travel agency. I would mainly advise travel by public transport, but private transport is also offered at your request. Private: iust you and me. For the third-party expenses, pay it on site. I could give you some advice and help you book it.

Dive into this undisputed spice capital. This mountainous metropolis offers a culinary journey unlike any other, centered around its legendary hotpot. More than a meal, it’s a fiery social ritual—gather around a bubbling pot of chilies and Sichuan peppercorns, cooking fresh meats and vegetables to your perfect level of numbing-spicy bliss. Instead of cliche hotpot, we will walk into bustling night markets and hidden backstreets. Savor xiao mian (spicy street noodles) for breakfast, try crispy la zi ji (chili chicken), and taste tangy suan la fen (hot & sour noodles). Each dish tells a story of bold flavors and local tradition. Friendly locals are eager to share their food culture, making every bite a memorable connection. Forget bland tourist fare. Come hungry, embrace the heat, and discover why this city captivates food lovers worldwide. Your unforgettable flavor adventure starts here.
1. Start in city center with a glimpse into Suanlafen (hot & sour noodles) and Xiaomian (Strett noodles) 2. Move on to local neighborhood for local stir-fried food (away from tourists) like chili chicken, double-cooked pork, etc where we see open kitchen where cooks dance with utensils and fire. Try them out if you like it. Dinner time is accounted for. 3. Move on to backstreets for some dessert like Bingfen (icy plant-leaf jelly) and Lianggao (cold rice cake with brown sugar) to clease the oil in the system. *use caution when you try stir fried food. It is very intense in Chongqing, the opposite to what you expect in Cantonese cuisine.
