I am Chris, with +10 Years of experience in the role of a licensed English- and Cantonese-speaking tourguide based in Chongqing, China. Sometimes, I do translator job for some language-challenged tourists and people on business trips. I am born and raised in this city, so I am pround to say 100% local. Meanwhile, I am making progress in Spanish (if you could speak slowly, I could catch up with you, having good conversations). I am a licensed tourguide of China and work for myself, so profession, flexibility, no overheads guaranteed. To fulfill a satisfactory tour with me, I could offer: An in-depth city tour with an expert local guide following a tailored and well-paced itinerary Flexibility with your opinions and requests! You could propose your preferred sites, OR, follow mine. Cost-saving budget, I go without those overhead expenses and hassles of a traditional travel agency. I would mainly advise travel by public transport, but private transport is also offered at your request. Private: iust you and me. For the third-party expenses, pay it on site. I could give you some advice and help you book it.

Overview of your Chongqing tour

As an enthusiastic, English-proficient local, I'm excited to showcase Chongqing, a vibrant example of inland China's progress. I've loved this city since childhood. Its unique hilly, waterfront terrain and subtropical climate have shaped resilient locals. Modern architecture blends seamlessly with traditional neighborhoods, creating breathtaking views. Chongqing's popularity stems from its unique history (including colonial and WWII experiences), urban landscape, cosmopolitan vibe, and delicious cuisine. It's a city for explorers and foodies. Chongqing is viral word: citywalk, WTT 2025, Cyberpunk, 8D city, mouth-burning food, Hongyadong, 1949 Show, etc. Chongqing, Chungking 重庆/重慶 was separated from Szechuan as the self-governing municipality and the biggest city in China and of the world. As a licensed guide, I offer an intercultural perspective, and guide you through inside out of the dialect, gastronomy(xiaomian, hotpot), nightview, landscape, climate and residential features.

We were a family of four and had an absolutely fantastic experience on the Chongqing City Highlights – City Walking Tour with Changchun. What really made this tour special was Changchun himself. He knows Chongqing incredibly well, not only the famous sights, but also all the great places that you would never find on your own. He knew exactly where to take us and, perhaps just as importantly, the right order in which to see everything. The whole day felt very well planned, with the perfect timing and route, so we got to experience the city at its best without wasting time. Changchun also gave us a fascinating insight into everyday life in China. He told us about Chinese culture, society and what it is actually like to live in China today. We asked lots of questions, and he was incredibly open, knowledgeable and happy to share his own perspective. This made the tour much more than just sightseeing, it gave us a real understanding of Chongqing and China. He was also fantastic with our family and made sure that both the adults and our children enjoyed the day. He was friendly, relaxed and genuinely seemed to enjoy showing us his city. We have travelled quite a lot, and this was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. If you are visiting Chongqing, we can highly recommend this tour and especially Changchun as your guide. His local knowledge, his sense of timing and his knowledge of all the best places made a huge difference. Thank you, Changchun, for an unforgettable day in Chongqing!

I had 48 hours in Chongqing and I was so glad to have Chris as my guide for a day tour from 10:00- 16:00. He communicated efficiently and his English was excellent. We met near my hotel and started the walking tour to Kuixing Building, the famous IG photo spot. Chris explained the elevations of the city. We walked around and enjoyed the informative conversations during our walk. Next stop was Liziba Dangui Chuanlou Train platform, it was so crowded! Chris was my photographer and took shots of me with the train!!! After the hectic experience, it was lovely to enjoy quiet tranquility in E’Ling Park - this is the best place to view Chongqing City, but you will have to climbed up to the top of pagoda. They have street vendors and I enjoyed the fried sticky sesame snack balls on a stick. Next, we Didi to Liberation Monument. Originally built in 1941 to inspire resistance during WWII, it was renamed in 1950 to commemorate the city's liberation by the People's Liberation Army in late 1949. We took Didi to Ciqikou Ancient Town. It was about a 30 minute ride. It was vibrant and I enjoyed tasting little sample food bites and tea shots along the different street alleys! The folks are all so friendly. I invited Chris to join me for lunch and we enjoyed a spicy local dish (not for the faint of heart)and fresh veggie stir fry. Lastly to get a little relaxation, we chilled at Alley House, a cute tea/coffee shop. You must try the sugar cane and silver grass tea, so refreshing. Chris and I parted ways and I explored Ciqikou Ancient Town on my own and discovered many interesting nooks and grannies! The Chongqing 1949 theater was a 10 minute walk from old town. If you are a history buff, you should see the show. The rotating stage, high-tech lighting and the actors performance tells the story of the liberation of Chongqing. Thank you Chris for a most delightful day in Chongqing.

We had only one day to spend in Chongqing and wanted to see all the "must see" places without having to look for them by ourselves. Chris was the perfect guide for our day: he knows the city of Chongqing in and out, he is a nice person ... and flexible too. We can only recommend doing the tour with him.

Your Chongqing tour itinerary

- Kuixinglou, meet up - Liziba Monorail Station - E'ling Park - Ciqikou Old Town - Lunch break - Qixinggang City Wall (local history) if it happens to be Saturday, there is drone show at 2030pm. Happy to provide you the directions. Note: Chongqing's hilly terrain involves many stairs, posing challenges for those with mobility issues. No vehicle but public transport is advised! *You should take full responsibility of what you buy and how much you pay. I don't offer to do shopping unless you are insistent. I would help you with understanding the price and translation. I don't bargain with vendors. Don't like, don't buy. Thanks.

Metro fare requires cash (I offer to pay for you, and we settle in the end) If you feel tired at any point during the tour, we can grab a taxi or Didi (Uber), at your expense.
