Hike day trip the Peak of Three Gorges: Chongqing's Best Mountain Trail

Located in Fengjie, Chongqing, the Peak of the Three Gorges is the highest point of the Yangtze River's Three Gorges, sitting at an impressive elevation of 1,388 meters. It is the ultimate destination to experience the breathtaking beauty of China's natural landscapes. Standing at the summit, you will be treated to a spectacular panoramic view of the majestic Qutang Gorge and the iconic Kuimen (the very scene featured on the back of the 10 RMB banknote!). The winding Yangtze River looks like a jade ribbon flowing between towering, steep mountains. This destination is not only famous for its stunning natural scenery but also for its rich history and culture. Named after a famous poem by the ancient poet Du Fu, the area is deeply connected to traditional Chinese music and poetry. As a licensed guide, I’ll help you deal with tickets and logistics, and explain how eco-tourist gains momentum in China.

For budget and comfort, we will NOT rent a car. We will use train plus Didi. ideally, go to Fengjie by bullet train one night before the tour (with me); thus you need to book one night hotel in Fengjie. Hotel allowance not accounted for guide (CNY80) if any. Start the trekking the next morning by 0930am (leave hotel around 0845am) 2 hours trekking and view, about 5KM trekking along magnificent cliff and river going down from the summit take shuttle bus to high speed train station get back to Chongqing city center by bullet train. or, if you have limited time or don't want to spend a night there, we have to take the earliest train from Chongqingbei (North) by 0700am. reach Fengjie station around 09am start trekking by 10am finish by 1230pm. then take the train back to Chongqing city, hopefully return to your hotel around 1630pm. *the easiest way of sightseeing is to take the cablecar to the summit, but it compromises the joy of trekking. alternatively, we could do 1-2 hour trekking tour, climbing steps.
