Join me for a 3. 5 hour drive to visit some of the best locations in the Saskatoon region where Snowy Owls often winter. Although we cannot guarantee finding Snowy Owls, these are locations where they are frequently seen in winter if the local mouse population is high enough. This tour is offered from late November to early March. Based upon my longtime experience as a birding guide, the greatest chance of finding owls occurs at this time. Although our focus will be looking for Snowy Owls, we may also find a few other wintering bird species. Tour proceeds support the local Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation charity.
We will depart Saskatoon about 2 pm and drive gravel roads within 75 km of Saskatoon in search of wintering owls. The greatest owl activity usually occurs between 3 pm and 5 pm.
