We took a private tour of Olinda with Sergio. Sergio knew a lot about the history of Recife and Olinda and told us a lot about it. He led us to beautiful churches, buildings, and viewpoints and talked about them as well. Thank you Sergio!

I'm a professional tour guide in the State of Pernambuco and I live in Recife, the Capital of the State. I have my CADASTUR (the registration at the Ministry of Tourism of Brazil) for 6 years now. I speak fluently English and Portuguese and lived all my life in the region you are interested on visiting - this makes me your perfect companion for visiting Recife, Olinda and all the wonderful places there are in Pernambuco. I also guided groups of tourists as a Tour Conductor to other States and cities in Brazil, having some knowledge of João Pessoa/PB, Campina Grande/PB, Maceió/AL, Fortaleza/CE, São Paulo/SP, Belo Horizonte/MG (including Inhotim Institute), always along with local tour guides to provide proper assistance. I have a wide knowledge of Recife, Olinda and the many cultural options to visit in these historical cities. In addition, I have guided many tourists to the wonderful and paradisiac beaches along the Pernambuco State coast, such as Calhetas, Porto de Galinhas, Carneiros, Tamandaré, Itamaracá, just to name a few options. I also love introducing the visitors in the delicious and exotic local cuisine. Seafood, local cheeses, the famous "sun meat" with bottled butter, tropical fruits and marvelous desserts. I'll tell you more when we meet here. South America/National and Regional Tour Guide in the state of Pernambuco, registered in the Ministry of Tourism of Brazil since 2012. The special thing about Olinda Historic Center is its vibe. The colors, the shapes, its hidden treasures. Just wander around the old cobblestone streets, without a fixed destination, can be an interesting experience. But there are many stories to be told and places to appreciate, therefore I'll conduct this walking tour in order to immerse the visitors in this vibrant and pleasant journey. Olinda was founded in 1535 by the Portuguese. It makes it one of the oldest cities on the American continent. I will introduce you to the wealth of the sugarcane reflected in rich and magnificent churches, an old slaves' market, routes of Carnaval parades and many other things we can only find in places like Olinda. Originally Olinda was a center of the sugarcane industry and this is why its historic area became World Heritage by UNESCO in 1982. Nowadays is known as an artists' colony, with many galleries, workshops and museums. And this is the place where we'll walk around and get to know.

Wonderful tour by an interesting and professional guide.
Very knowledgeable. Eager to share info and history. Made day very enjoyable. Anticapatd and adjusted our needs as necessary. Tremendous job.
Excellent tour and a lovely guide! He really made an effort to show us the real Olinda and we had local food and drink en route. I gave five stars but it didnt register it, certainly five star
Very good tour guide with good English and a pleasant manner. As well as the local sights of Olinda we sampled some of the local cuisine - tapioca tacos! and coconut juice. It was a very hot day so Sergio had the driver take us up and down the hills of Olinda, rather than having to walk. As the Benedictine church was closed, we had a short, unplanned tour of the old center of Recife too.
We will take a car and go directly to Olinda's World Heritage Historic Center. - Carmo Square and the Church of Our Lady Of Mount Carmel of Olinda, Brazil's first Carmelite Order church; - Franciscan Convent, - The Sé Cathedral (Church of Our Lord Savior of the World), where is located the most beautiful view of both Recife and Olinda cities. - Art shops of Alto da Sé. There are many nice shops to vist if the group is interested. - Mercy's Slope and the Four Corners of Olinda, one of the most famous corridors of Olinda's Carnaval parades. - Ribeira Market, an ols slaves' market; - Saint Benedict's Monastery from the outside (closed for renovation) But actually the itinerary can be changed at all times, depending on what you prefer to do and where you prefer to go. NOTE: on Mondays some museums and cultural centers may not be open for visitation.
