During your visit at Iguassu Falls, you can join a visit to the largest electricity generator in the world and one of the 7 Wonder of Engineering. It is located at the Parana river the, right in the border between Brazil and Paraguay. The Itaipu Dam is the largest generator of electricity in the world, supply electricity for 40 millions habitants, about 18% of the electricity in Brazil and 80% in Paraguay. Tours options: PANORAMIC TOUR is done by bus around and crossing to both river sides as well the ride at top of the Dam , there will be some stops for pictures. SPECIAL TOUR is done by minibus with maximum 25passengers around and crossing to both river sides as well the ride at top of the Dam , there will be a visit inside the structure and turbines.
Francis was a great guide to see Itaipu Dam with. He was very flexible and went above and beyond to ensure I had an enjoyable day, including an impromptu tour of Foz do Iguaçu when I had extra time before my flight. The dam is fascinating to visit and is a worthwhile supplement to the experience of seeing the falls.
