A full day adventure outside the city of La Paz
Overview of your La Paz tour
Join me on a full-day adventure outside the craziness of the City of La Paz. In this experience will visit Palca Canyon (cañon de Palca) in which we will find amazing views of Mururata mountain and Illimani mountain, these two giants that guard our beloved city. We will explore the rugged rock formations and twisting caverns of the eroded amphitheater formatted thousands of years ago, learn some Aymaran myths, local tales, and beliefs on Pachamama (Mother Earth), and see a bit of local life outside the big city. After our visit to Palca Canyon will direct ourselves to the Soul Valley (Valle de las Animas), where we can appreciate another group of impressive geological formations that were named by locals who thought the jagged rocks resembled petrified souls, here will have time to explore, take photos, and have a nice picnic on the top of the hills. These two places are surreal and full of incredible natural beauty that you can't miss!
Your La Paz tour itinerary
9:00 am You will be picked up from your hotel/accommodation on private transportation. From here we will drive around 40 min outside La Paz. 10:00 am Palca Canyon: Our first stop is a lookout point with a nice view of Illimani and Murata mountains in the Cordillera Real after we will arrive at The town of uni from where we start a 2 hours walk to the small town of Palca. 1:00 pm Soul valley: After an hour's drive from the Town Of Palca, will arrive at Soul Valley where we do a few short hikes to look out points and also have a picnic lunch admiring the wonderful view of the valley and the city of La Paz. 3:00 pm will arrive back at your hotel/accommodation. * This tour can be customized upon request, please contact me.
