Lake Titikaka is the world's highest navigable Surface. Covering an area of 180 Km by 70 Km, at 3, 810 m. a. s. l, framed by a landscape snow-capped Andean peaks and fed by melting fresh water. Copacabana is a bay of Lake Titikaka. During the pre-hispanic period was already a pilgrimage and ritual place nowadays continues, but also Catholic, devotees of the "Virgen Morena" the virgin of Copacabana arrive, the faithful flock to this place to receive the blessing of the Virgin, but also of the native priest who performs the traditional "Chàlla". The Island of the Sun, the Island of the Moon and the other Islands dotted with archeological remains are a testimony to the domination exercised by Aymara civilization and also by Kechua civilization represented by the Incas. On the Island of the Sun is still possible to observe the farming terraces, pre-Hispanic technic still in use and really productive I invite you to enjoy the nature and culture of the Andean civilization!
