Hello, I’m Azar — Let Me Show You Azerbaijan My name is Azar, and I was born and raised in Baku. For the past 9 years, I have had the privilege of working as a professional guide, organizing private tours and outdoor experiences for travelers from all over the world. But I have never seen guiding as simply a job. For me, every tour is an opportunity to meet new people, share stories, discover something together, and give my guests a genuine feeling of what Azerbaijan is really like. I am a professional English-speaking local guide and driver, and I specialize in private and customized experiences. I take pride in creating journeys that are comfortable, flexible, safe, and tailored to the interests of each guest. Azerbaijan Is My Home I don't just guide people around Azerbaijan — this is the country where I grew up. I know Baku not only as a tourist destination, but as my hometown. I know the roads, the landscapes, the stories, the traditions, and the little places that can make a journey more personal. And Azerbaijan has so much to offer. In one trip, you can walk through the ancient streets of Baku, explore centuries-old villages, travel through dramatic mountain landscapes, discover unique natural formations, taste traditional Azerbaijani cuisine, and experience traditions that have been passed down through generations. From the Caspian Sea to the Caucasus Mountains, from modern architecture to ancient history, Azerbaijan is a country of contrasts — and I love showing those contrasts to my guests. More Than Just a Tour I believe that the best journeys are not only about the places you visit. They are about the people you meet, the conversations you have, the food you taste, the unexpected moments, and the stories you take home with you. That is why I always try to make my tours personal rather than simply following a fixed script. If you want history, we can dive deep into it. If you love nature, we can explore the mountains and countryside. If you are interested in local life and culture, I will show you Azerbaijan from that perspective. And if you simply want to relax, enjoy the scenery, and let someone else take care of everything — I'm happy to do that too. Safety and comfort are also very important to me. I have received first-aid training and always make safe and responsible driving a priority, especially when traveling through Azerbaijan's mountainous and remote regions. Come as a Guest, Leave as a Friend After years of guiding, one of my favorite parts of this profession is seeing guests leave Azerbaijan with more than just photographs. I want them to leave with stories to tell, memories to keep, and a reason to come back. So, if you are planning to visit Azerbaijan, I would be happy to show you my country — not only as a tourist destination, but as the place I call home. Come with curiosity. I'll take care of the rest. Welcome to Azerbaijan. Let's explore it together.

Fabulous sites outside of Baku City. The petroglyphs were amazing, mud volcano interesting, fire mountain unique, and the fire temple was rooted in lots of history. Azir was personable and informative. He’s a very good driver in the crazy Baku traffic too.

Azar is an extraordinary guide—warm, professional, and deeply knowledgeable. He led an unforgettable day trip from Baku to Qobustan National Park, the mud volcanoes, Yanar Dağ, and more. His historical and cultural depth brought every site to life, and he answered every question with insight and kindness. He created a rich and personalized experience of Azerbaijan. I can’t recommend him highly enough.

Excellent tour for first-time visitors to Azerbaijan. Gobustan was particularly fascinating as we learned about people who lived in the area in pre-historic times. Mud volcanoes and burning land were also unique sights for us. Azar was knowledgeable and accommodating throughout. Great meal as well.

We very much enjoyed our trip to Baku, Azerbaijan. Our guide, Azar Nuriyev, was excellent and arranged a full day tour to Gobustan, a UNESCO site, which has amazing Stoneage and Bronze Age petroglyphs. We also visited the Temple of Fire which has great significance to both the Zoroastrian and Hindu religions. Azar also helping us understand Azerbaijan culture and day to day life Alison Howe I highly recommend Azar and Tours By Locals Alison Howe

This day couldn't have even any more perfect. Azar is an excellent tour guide. He was very informative and knowledgeable about each area he took us to. We had plenty of time and didn't feel rushed. He communicated well with us before the tour and picked us up on time, and even after about 10 hours he didn't skip any stops and gave us lots of time to see everything. I would highly recommend Azar's tours!
