Takeing Gobustan tour you will see rock petrogliphs. the place will take you back 20 000 BC. You will understand how the first sivilizations were living like. Because everything what they saw around them they scarved into the rocks. Not far from Gobustan there is place called Mud Volcanos. The surface of place reminds moon surface. Mud Volcanos is result of natural gases coming out from core.
Rashad was very kind and the tour was perfect from start to finish. He took us through the Gobustan rock art and petroglyphs, the museum, and out to the mud volcanoes — great info at every stop, great company the whole way, and very hospitable throughout. We had a wonderful half-day tour with Rashad to the Gobustan rock art caves and mud volcanoes. Great trip Gobustan and a mud volcano!
- 9 am. We travel to National park Gobustan of Petroglips. You will travel 64 km southwest of Baku along with the Caspian shore. On the way to Gobustan, you will see the geography of the region covered with volcanic desert, craggy stones, and withered mountains. - The tour will start from Gobustan Museum where you will see ancient human bones, work tools used in back to thousand years ago during the Mesolithic Period. Then, you will advance to the mountain in order to see real Rock Paintings in the open air museum. - You will also get a chance to marvel at the Mud Volcanoes in the Gobustan Reserve which is home to almost half of the world's mud volcanoes. Nowhere else in the world are there so many mud volcanoes as in Azerbaijan - which has literally hundreds of these strange things, more than in the rest of the world put together.
