Guide #21128
I am an innovative Tourism Specialist with more than 12 years of experience in the Tourism Industry. I plan and coordinate Historical Tour for private visitors, college and school groups, family and military reunions to historical sites such as Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church, the first church where Dr. King served as Pastor, prior to accepting leadership for the 1955 Montgomery Bus Boycott. It is an honor for me to host visitors from all walks of life and to share the lessons about the Civil Rights Movement and other Historical events in Alabama. I am especially rewarded when I receive "thank you notes" from students who thank me for giving them a deeper meaning of the rich history. I respect the opportunity to escort visitors to the nation's first comprehensive memorial dedicated to over 4, 400 victims of racial terror. This experience at the National Memorial of Peace and Justice is a "life-changing" experience for them. It gives me another opportunity to enlighten those who were not aware of so many tragedies toward African Americans. My services are presented with unique southern charm in showing the various landmark sites throughout Alabama. I have clocked more treks across the infamous Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, the site of the infamous "Bloody Sunday", more times than I can count; leading both young and senior groups who dare not visit Alabama without taking a ceremonial walk across this Historical landmark! My repertoire also includes a compelling vice over for the voice of Mamie Teal in the film produced by the Southern Poverty Law Center, "Faces in the Water. " The film is shown daily at the Civil Rights Memorial Center. One of most treasured works was my role as an extra in the award-winning movie, "Selma", produced by Oprah Winfrey and Brad Ptt and directed by Ava DuVernay - Antioch University - Master's Degree - Indiana University-Purdue University - Certified Travel Industry Specialist - Diploma Travel Marketing Specialist, Southeast Tourism Society Marketing College at North Georgia College & State University - Dale Carnegie & Associates - Dale Carnegie Training I am only fluent in English.

She even shared some interesting tidbits from when she was an extra in the movie "Selma". Ann was very professional and engaging. I am extremely glad that I found...

Ann was very knowledgeable and professional. The tour focused on the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute and the 16th Street Baptist Church. She answered all of our questions and provided insight into the history of the civil rights movement that we could not have garnered on our own. My only quibble is that the tour was quite expensive ($476 plus admission tickets) for...
