Guide #72138
Hi, I’m Mariano, a certified tour guide, nature enthusiast, and passionate about human connection, based in Huatulco, Oaxaca. Guiding for the past 6 years, I’ve dedicated my work to building genuine connections with local families in the highlands of Huatulco. These relationships allow me to offer you experiences that go beyond the ordinary — immersive journeys into the landscapes, flavors, and traditions of rural Mexico. I spent 7 years living in Canada, where I developed a deep appreciation for cultural exchange and sustainable tourism. That experience helped shape my approach today: blending international hospitality standards with a profound respect for local heritage. I’m deeply passionate about nature and conservation. Beyond guiding, I dedicate much of my time to monitoring wildlife through trail cameras and registering birdlife via the eBird platform, contributing to citizen science and supporting local biodiversity efforts. On every tour, I enjoy sharing insights about Huatulco's unique ecosystems, sustainability initiatives, and the ancestral knowledge that has helped preserve both the land and cultural identity for generations. For me, guiding is more than just showing places — it’s about creating meaningful, transformative experiences that stay with you long after the tour ends. I look forward to welcoming you and sharing the wonders of Huatulco together. I’ll be happy to customize the experience to fit your needs — whether it's for larger groups, combining different activities, adjusting timing and duration, or accommodating special requests. Just let me know what you have in mind, and I’ll do my best to make it happen! French or Italian interpreter available upon request.

We really enjoyed the visit to the local mezcal farm where we learned all about the very...
