Hi, I’m Eriko, a private guide and Japan travel curator based in Takayama, a charming town in the Japanese Alps. I’m here to help you create one-of-a-kind travel experiences in Japan. I’ve been fortunate to travel to many countries and live abroad in Australia and Canada. Experiencing different cultures helped me see Japan from a new perspective and reconnect with my roots. Now, it’s my turn to help you discover the beauty of Japan in a deeper, more personal way. After years in Tokyo, I chose to slow down and follow what truly inspires me—nature, tradition, and meaningful cultural experiences. Today, I guide in Takayama, Shirakawa-go, Kanazawa, Toyama, Kamikochi, and Matsumoto, sharing not only the highlights, but also the stories, seasonal beauty, and meaningful encounters with local people that make each place special. My tours are designed to go beyond sightseeing, offering insight into culture, craftsmanship, and everyday life—always in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, like exploring with a local friend. For those looking for a deeper journey, I also create customized multi-day tours (2 to 10 days), which can start from Tokyo or other major cities.
