Guide #21495
In a nutshell: Experienced and CERTIFIED tour guide specializing in tours for guests from the US and Canada • native German speaking English without German accent • my tours are interesting but not overwhelming: knowledge in well-measured doses • sense of humor (yes!) • M. A. translator • traveler • mother • love what I do The longer story: For several years now I've been happily guiding guests from overseas around Regensburg, and I do take my job very seriously in order to deliver high-quality tours. My tour philosophy is: edutainment. For me this means to make history come alive and to give you just the right amount of information on the places we visit without getting lost in too many details. After all, I want you to enjoy yourselves and to have a good time. Believe it or not - Germans do have a sense of humor, too. Originally, I am from northern Germany, but I have been living in Regensburg and the greater area for about a decade, and from the first moment I have been in love with this town - the original medieval buildings, the romantic small alleys and the lovely plazas - it's impossible not to love Regensburg. So I am always happy to share my enthusiasm for this place with anyone who is interested! I completed the guide training courses of two local tour agencies, which included written and practical exams, in 2009 and 2015. Apart from that I have never stopped reading and learning about Regensburg's history. My English is truly fluent as I lived in the US as a teenager for the high school year of 2001/02. Plus, I have been studying and working with the English language for over 20 years now. I hold a Master's degree in translation as well. Before my son was born, I worked as a full-time tour guide; even in the US and Canada where I guided German travelers around on bus tours. Now, as a mother, I fully concentrate on Regensburg. So let me make sure your time here will be great. I'm looking forward to being your host! Member of the German Association of Tourist Guides (BVGD). Tour guide training including written and practical test for the city of Regensburg. Training for guiding tours in Munich. Member of the German Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDUE). I do not have a permit to take you around in my car. I do not have a license for guiding inside St. Peter's Cathedral or to guide inside any other church in Regensburg.

Thank you, Steve, also for sharing your story with me during the tour. I will remember!
Christine was fantastic. Our train was cancelled, and via text and phone calls Christine went out of her way to accommodate us later that day. We had such a great time in Regensburg, and she took us to all of the highlights of the old town in the city. She is a local, and had great insight not only into the history, but the current culture. We learned a lot, saw a...

Thanks for your kind words, Michael. I am glad we managed to do the tour after all of the trouble you had to get here. So it seems you tried some of the local Christmas market delicacies, very good! All the best to you!
