Hi, I'm Emmanuel. I have been living in a village near Dunkirk for 15 years. I worked as a travel agent for a few years before beginning as a tour guide on a WWI site in Belgium, near Ypres in 2014. Right after that, I was offered the chance to work in Dunkirk, and I couldn't miss this opportunity! I consider myself lucky to live in a place with a rich history like Dunkirk. I have been passionate about the history of WWII since I was a child, and I love guiding people around, telling them about the history of the city, especially about Operation Dynamo. Many visitors had their father or grandfather in Dunkirk in 1940, and I sometimes learn a lot from them. In my opinion, a pleasant tour is more a conversation than giving a monologue, so every tour is different from the previous one. I easily adapt so feel free to ask if you have any wishes regarding the tour you would like to follow, and remember that talking about the war won't stop us from having a good time together. Emanuel was such a knowledgeable guide he was very accommodating ( we missed our train) our tour was specially. Tailored for our group everyone agreed it was great and well planned also we have to mention his sense of humour and good clear English language

We spent the entire day with Emmanuel - the beach, the city center, the site of the massacre, the cemetery, and the museum. He explained every moment of history with great depth of knowledge and compassion. We feel very lucky to have had him as our guide!!
