Overview of your Ullapool tour
We will travel North along the rugged yet stunning West coast, stopping off to stretch our legs and really drink in this unique place. I started doing this tour because within only 15 minutes, you will completely understand why this area has been given a UNESCO Geopark status! From the oldest mountains in the world, wide open spaces and dramatic landscapes, we will travel through what we locally refer to as the empty lands to our main destination - Handa Island. From here it's a short boat trip to spend a few hours exploring one of the most important seabird breeding grounds in Europe, and of course looking out for it's star - The iconc Puffin. There are over 100, 000 birds that use the island as a breeding area and the place is a cacophony of sound! On our way back, we visit the quaint fishing village of Lochinver, an ancient MacLeod Castle ruin and more awesome scenery to ensure your day trip from Ullapool is one to remember!

From Ullapool or our agreed pick up: ~ Take in the breathtaking mountains of Assynt and beyond as we drive through this amazing landscape ~Kyleskue Bridge (quick stop) ~ Handa Island (walk around this amazing island to observe the 1000's of birds who nest here) ~ Lochinver (for a stroll through this quaint fishing village as well as the world famous pie shop! ~ Highland Stoneware (Optional hand crafted and hand painted stoneware that is fit for hanging and not just for eating off!) ~Ardvreck Castle (a short walk along the beach to this castle) ~ Knockan Crag (a short walk providing an insight into the rocks and mountains of the area) ~ Return to departure point Should the weather prevent the boat trip to Handa, the alternative from Kyleskue Bridge is; ~ Clachtol Broch (2000 year old dwelling on the edge of Scotland) ~ Achmelvich (with it's aqua green bay, white sands and idyllic setting) ~ Lochinver and as above All tours can be customized, please contact me if you have any specific requirements
