Being a local living in the Highlands for most of my life has given me a great platform to gain an in depth knowledge of the area, it's history, culture and heritage. Overview of your Ullapool tour
I love this journey, taking in the beautiful natural settings, slowing down and explaining the rich history of the area! Our first stop will be a 30m walk around and over Corrieshalloch Gorge which is a 60m box canyon which was carved by the glacial melt waters some 10, 000 years ago. From here, we make our way to the Blackwater river. This is an incredibly beautiful spot and we take our time to get out and appreciate the setting. We continue our travels through the county of Ross-shire and make our way for a sample of Uisge Beatha (Gaelic for Water of Life, otherwise known as Whisky!) Glen Ord has a rich history dating back to 1838 and "The Singleton" - a great example of Highland Malt. We will spend around an hour here for the distillery tour which ends with your very own dram! The picturesque village of Beauly is our lunch stop and we will also have time to explore the ruined priory and learn of it's history before making our last stop - Loch Ness & Urquhart Castle for an hour to explore the ruins.
