Marcello as a fantastic guide. He knew everything from history to fauna, was personable and a total pleasure to be with. If you are coming to Alba ( or many other places he guides in Italy ) , you have to use Marcello. Garry L

I was born in Alba, in the heart of the Langhe, and here I live since ever. Spent my childhood hiking and biking these hills, helping the family in the weekends in my grandparents's Estate, picking hazelnuts and harvesting grapes. And Sunday lunch was a family thing, preparing tajarin home made pasta or tasting my wonderful Grandmother's 'minestrone' (vegetable soup) in winter, with a (couple of) spoon of Dolcetto in it. That's what I call 'imprinting! The passion for this unexpected area grew up in years: so many different flavours in different seasons, a tremendous amount of roman and medieval remains, a surprising local 'cuisine' tradition, a scenographic hilly landscape (the 50th Italian UNESCO heritage site), not to mention an all-over-the-world well known wine tradition. And. . . Who loves truffles? I became certified Piedmont tour guide in 2010, certified hiking guide in 2017 and certified bike guide in 2019 (Tic-tae-toe!) so I finally turned my knowledge and passion in a perfect job. Here I am! And my goal is always the same: share with the travellers 'local spots', discovering familiar farmers and cellars! Come to enjoy South Piedmont. Simply a wonderful. Simply unexpected. Local from more then 50yrs ; )) Certified tour guide, hiking guide, biking guide 2yrs Degree in wine tasting (ONAV) I love do this! None

A mushroom? A potato? A jewel? Why do people from all over the world get crazy about the White Alba truffle? A status symbol like Chanel n° 5 but made of more than 90% of water and. . . Even more expensive! Come to Alba and experience the real truffle hunting in the woods with the man (Trifulau) and his loyal (and very valuable ;)) friend, the dog! The truffle hunting will take about 45-60 minutes, and after that we'll have a short walk through Alba, the worldwide capital of white truffle, where the myth of the Truffle was. . . "invented", enjoying a light truffle products tasting! Half-day tour to discover all the secrets of truffle's ID. Ask me to customize your perfect tour!

We very much enjoyed this unique experience, meeting a truffle hunter/forager and his dog, and learning a little about the expertise required to find these special funghi. We also learned so much about the history, architecture and culture of the City of Alba. Marcello has a very friendly and relaxed style that makes you feel at home and well cared for in his city.
We had a wonderful tour with Marcello, who was punctual, engaging and informative. Our party of 4 enjoyed his choices of what to show us about the hidtory and culture of Alba! Would hughly recimmend!
• Meeting in Alba or nearby around 9. 30. • Go to the truffle hunting place in the hills around Alba. According to seasonality we could find different kind of truffles! • At the end of the hunting we'll come back to Alba to have a short tour in town, spending some words more about truffle's history and having a walk together through nice Alba centre! • Then I'll salute you before lunch - around 12. 30.

We'll need a car to move from/back to Alba for the truffle hunting. My car is included in the price (NOT luxury car) but I can customize your transportation with a private car if you wish.
