My name is Kathleen. I have tour guided for a number of years in Costa Rica as well as in the Tampa Bay area. I have also been a ghost tour guide here and know all the haunted spots. I am a St. Petersburg, Florida native and I love the outdoors and the fresh air, which we have here in abundance. I have a kayak hanging from the ceiling in my condo and take it out to the rivers or Gulf as much as possible. My bicycle occupies a prime spot in the second bedroom. I also enjoy culture, theater, and music and am pleased to say that St. Pete offers a wide variety of this sort of entertainment. My city is growing in leaps and bounds and I know every nook and cranny! I raised my son here and we explored this great city by the bay thoroughly, seeking out adventure and fun where ever it could be found. I love the beauty and bustle of the city as well as the serenity and peace of the waterways and beaches. I can show you the out-of-the-way spots that locals seek out or connect you with our thriving cultural scene. We have thirteen museums and a bounty of art venues, as well as a wonderful selection of restaurants, cafes, and lounges. Downtown St. Pete has a distinctly European flavor with its out door patios and music in the plazas. I would love to introduce you to all we have to offer. All my tours can be customized to your desires. I greatly enjoy being a tour guide and feel proud to she able to show just how wonderful my city is. I will try and show you what makes my city so uniquely wonderful. I grew up here in this marvelous place. My family has live St. Pete since the 1940s. I have lots of great stories that I love to share. Stroll the shores of the picturesque Hillsborough River while learning the history of this fair city. See the historic Henry Plant Hotel where Teddy Roosevelt trained his troops for the Spanish American War, pass by where Ton Jannus landed on his historic flight over Tampa Bay, enter the peaceful nave of the oldest cathedral in the area, and soak in the sun and flavor of Tampa. Take an old-time trolley to the Cuban town of Ybor City, erstwhile cigar capital of the world, passing by the cruise port, Florida aquarium, and an outdoor mall. In Ybor meander the brick streets where you will see preserved ethnic social centers, watch Cuban cigars being rolled, and revel in some old world flavor. Finally, end the tour at the iconic Columbia Restaurant famous since 1907 for its great Cuban food and mosaics.
Just a few of the places of interest you will see: On the Riverwalk: *Convention Center *Henry Plant museum and Hotel *Tampa Theatre *Sacred Heart Cathedral From the trolley: *Amalie stadium *Sparkman Wharf outdoor mall *Cruise ship port *Florida aquarium In Ybor: *Cigar factory *Cuban, Spanish, and Italian social Clubs *Museum *Old "casitas" *Cigar rolling *Centro Ybor *Columbia Restaurant
