Violeta is the perfect guide. She knows almost everything about the culture and history of Istrie. She showed us around in the wonderful village Motovun. The King of Truffles Nicola and his two dogs taught us how to find truffles in the forest, which was funny. We had a very interesting day en recommend our lovely guide Violeta!
We had a group of 4 for Viloetta's tour and our experience was delightful from beginning to end. We had a private pick up and she sat with us in the back of the van as we traveled through the beautiful county side. Nature, economics, history and language was intertwined with humor, and great stories! Our truffle experience was on our bucket list and it did not disappoint as we had a chance to watch the dogs work, shop in a unique truffle shop, and have a delicious lunch. Definitely a tour favorite!
If we could, we would give Violeta a rating of 10 ⭐️. She gave us the best tour ever! We began at the Annual Truffle Festival in Livade, Istria, where we tasted gourmet Cheese, hors d'oeuvres with Truffles, fabulous Olive Oil and hand carved Proscuitto. We then went to the Motovun Forest where Truffle Hunter Nikola Tarandekl & his 2 dogs took us on a truffle hunt, yielding two of the prized Tubers. Following that, we went to a mountain-top medieval town for a gourmet truffle lunch. Just WONDERFUL!!
