Hi - my name is Chris; I would love to take you on a tour around Napier & Hawke's Bay in our modern luxury European vehicles. I have had a long passion for travel & the tourism industry. I've traveled extensively during my 20's in Australia, Asia, North America and Europe where I tour guided on the canal boats in France. In 2002 I meet my wife, who is from Hawke's Bay and in 2003 we moved there from Auckland to start a family and immerse ourselves into the region we now call home. I want to share the wonderful Hawke's Bay experience with you and your friends. It really is a most beautiful and diverse place! My aim is to provide a luxury tour experience along with customised tour & transfer options that you'll want to share with your family and friends. Our luxury European vehicles are air conditioned for superior comfort and complementary chilled water is provided. Enjoy a relaxed day out tasting award winning wines at 3 Hawke's Bay vineyards, platter lunch and taking in the views of the picturesque countryside along the way. This amazing full day tour includes our famous Art Deco City, Napier and how the region recovered from the 1931 earthquake and the most photographed Art Deco façade in New Zealand the famous National Tobacco Company Building. The tour includes a visiting 3 of Hawkes Bays award-winning wineries for wine tasting and platter lunch. Then we get off the beaten track into the Hawke's Bay countryside through the stunning Tuki Tuki River Valley and some of the best panoramic views in the Hawke's Bay. We then make our way back to Napier City where I will drop you off at the city for a bit of shopping or to collect the shuttle back to the ship.
We had a great day with Chris! It was fun visiting his own town, getting an "inside look" at the area and its history. A beautiful drive with a stop at a cute tea house with a sculpture garden. Definitely not something you'd see on a cruise ship shore excursion! Then, on to two fabulous wineries for curated tastings. He planned the order well, with a great start at the first one, then even better wines at the second! Thanks so much Chris!
Chris was a wonderful tour guide. He is personable & knowledgable and very accommodating. He made our wine tour most enjoyable because he knows some of the best wineries. We did a tour of the Napier area before heading to 3 different wine tastings. Craggy Range was the most beautiful setting for a winery, Hawkes Ridge was amazing, but my favorite was Black Barn. Not only did we get to taste wine, we also got to taste Black Barn Gin. Very special, I even brought a bottle home. Book this tour, it great!
Chris was awesome and funny. He had great stories and took us to wineries with great food and wines. He also hit the highlight locations for just the right amount of time so we optimized our time in port. We traveled with a group of 8 and everybody was extremely happy with the tour. We'd definitely use his service again and would like to spend multiple days with him showing us even more. He was also able to avoid the crowds and traffic which is extremely important to our group.
