I am a Palestinian Christian licensed tour guide from Bethlehem. I studied and graduated from Dar Alkalima University in tourism studies as a tour guide and I have been working as a Palestinian tour guide since 2012. I became a licensed tour guide by the Palestinian Ministry of Tourism in 2014. I took English studies at Sam Houston State University in Texas. At the same time I started working as a private tour guide I started taking Eco-tourism training and got the wilderness first Aid license. I love Archaeology and history and that's why I started my own studying and my dream is to help write the Palestinian narrative which I'm already represent my people in telling it to the visitors of Palestine. I love travelling and I have taken many trips around Europe and the USA. My favorite trip was walking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela (800 Kilometers). Travelling gave me the experience to start offering stimulating tailor-made tours, customized to suit the interests of my customers. I love Palestine and I believe I am a good Ambassador of my country and I want to encourage people from all over the world to come and hear the Palestinian narrative from the original Palestinians. This tour was super interesting. Hazem knows an awful lot about the areas we visited and was accomodating to include other site visits in the tour. He explained things in great details and was fun to be with. He also does not shy away from serious topics which gives you a different point of view. This tour won't disappoint! Hazem was great tour guide. He was very flexible and designed a tour that exceeded our expectations. He gave us lots of historical and cultural information and allowed us to see the everyday life through the insightful lens of a local. He was more than happy to answer our questions and he also offered recommendations of other things to do and places to eat during the tour. Can't recommend enough!
Our guide, Hazem, provided from the beginning a professional and welcome setting. Besides touring the requested sites, he provided a local and personal insight to the exprience and knowledge of the places visited, of the real lives and situations of the people currently living there, giving context to culture, geography and history. We were fast friends, and the bespoke tour gave balance to our visit to Israel and Palestine. Highly recommended.
We spent the entire day with Hazem visiting Jericho and Bethlehem. Communication, promptness, and rapport were excellent. We visited locations relevant both to Christians and Muslims including a sixth century palace with world class mosaics. We were able to include conversations pertaining to recent history and the relationship between the Israeli and Palestinian peoples. Our guide is highly recommended particularly if a deeper understanding of this is desired by guests
After meeting you, I will drive you to the old city. We will visit the Nativity Church. Inside we will visit the Nativity Cave, the manger, St. Catherine Church and St. Jerome Cave. After the Nativity Church, you will have an opportunity to view the magnificent panorama view of city of Bethlehem from the top of one of the old houses which is now an olive wood factory. Here you can watch locals craft souvenirs from native olive trees. Later, I will drive you to the Shepherd's Field, where the angels appeared to the shepherds to witness Jesus' birth. Afterwards, we will drive to Jeicho city, the oldest city in the world, and we will visit the archaeological site of Jericho later we will visit Hisham Palaceand walk around the biggestmosaiccarpetintheworld. We will staop at the Sycamore Tree and then we will visit the monastery of temptation. At the end we will visit the Jordan River.
