Explore Jericho your way

At ToursByLocals, we believe that how you explore is just as important as where you go. That’s why every Jericho tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Jericho for every interest, including:

History tours: Walk Tell es-Sultan to view the archaeological mound and the spring at Ein es-Sultan, with your guide explaining layers of excavation. Continue to Hisham’s Palace to see its mosaic floors and the winter hunting lodge ruins.

Religious Sites tours: Ride the cable car to the Mount of Temptation and visit the cliffside monastery. Then continue to Qasr al-Yahud on the Jordan River for the baptism site and a look at the sycamore associated with Zacchaeus in town.

Nature and Wildlife tours: Follow parts of Wadi Qelt for a canyon walk with spring-fed pools and birdlife, choosing shaded segments in hotter months. Visit a date plantation to learn how medjool dates are pollinated and harvested, with tastings straight from the source.

The town centre is walkable and taxis or shared cars connect nearby spots, but many sites sit outside the core and the heat can be intense. You can book a chauffeured tour or ask your local guide to arrange private transportation between stops.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Jericho inside and out.
