This tour saved us time in negotiating Capitol highlights. The best part was experiencing the Supreme Court Chambers with an outstanding docent. A court employee gave us pamphlets of all court cases that were decided in the last 2-3 weeks. Ellen got us in both Senate and House Chambers. Unfortunately, though the calendar showed both were in session, their sign indicated adjourned till next week. Still, it was compelling to be in the chambers, and to learn more about their procedures. The Capitol and Library of Congress were teeming with many school groups, but are must sees. The architectural design in both is jaw dropping. Ellen cannot take you in the key areas of the Capitol ; she shows you an easy line for a Capitol Visitor Center tour leaving within 10 minutes. All in all a good tour for a very busy 250th in DC. My only criticism is that with her soft voice, she could ramp up volume of her delivery, and make eye contact so the narration is received. We are in our seventies, and part of this difficulty could be us too!
