Join me, a resident of Harlem, for an insider's tour of the community. We'll stroll Harlem's streets, exploring its beautiful brownstones and remnants of its fabled past. Historic sites we'll see include Strivers' Row, Abyssinian Baptist Church, the original "Swing Street, " and the Hotel Theresa, a centre of the Civil Rights Movement. As we explore, I'll share tales of Harlem's illustrious past - days of the "Harlem Renaissance" and nights in the Cotton Club. Highly recommend Harlem tour with Jeff. The weather did not cooperate and it rained during most of our tour, but that did not stop Jeff from giving my teenage daughter and me a detailed and professional walk about Harlem full of history and personal insights. Sampling Harlem neighborhood restaurants and checking out events at Schomburg Center or Apollo Theatre are on the agenda for my next trip. Thanks Jeff!
We had a really great time on this tour. Having spent a lot of time in Manhattan, but not in Harlem, we wanted to learn about the area. Our tour guide Jeff was a fountain of knowledge, with great side stories. I would thoroughly recommend this tour. So much history and so much music magic. Beautiful area of the city, and Jeff showed us many different areas that we would have not seen if not on a walking tour, and his taking us to places that are not typical.
Great introduction to the history of Harlem! We really enjoyed the sights that Jeff took us to -- all things we would have missed had we walked through the neighborhood on our own. He also gave us great suggestions for lunch after the tour. A great way to spend the morning!
