Overview of your Inverness tour

This hidden gem of the Highlands tour is my favourite day tour, taking in, Castles, whisky and beautiful views, the perfect day in every way. Once we depart, we will travel along the Dornoch Firth, past Skibo Castle (Holiday home of Andrew Carnegie) then on through the wildlife haven of Strath Fleet to arrive at the breathtaking Dunrobin Castle. The castle was built and dates back to 1275 by Robert, Earl of Sutherland, the impressive house contains 189 rooms, with a rich collection of fine furniture, paintings, tapestries and objects d'art. The castle is magnificently set in a stunning outlook with beautiful gardens which overlook the sea. There should also be a falconry display within the grounds. From here, it's a short journey towards the Royal Burgh of Dornoch, then onwards to your accommodation.

Your Inverness tour itinerary

Dunrobin Castle and Falconry Display, The 'Jewel in the Crown of the Highlands', The Castle resembles a French château, with the architectural influences of Sir Charles Barry, who designed London's Houses of Parliament, we are here for nearly 2 hrs taking in the Castle, and brilliant Falconry Display. ~ Dornoch, This Highland town has the thirteenth-century Dornoch Cathedral, The most furthest North Cathedral on the mainland, and one of the top 10 Golf courses in the world. From here its just a wee drive back to your ship or accommodation.
