My name is Ertunga and I was born in 1977 in Kusadası, where I still live. I graduated from the University of Philology, Department of English Language and Literature. I worked as an English Teacher for few years but I understood that it is not really what I wanted so I finished my short teaching career. Then I decided to study History and Archaeology and use my knowledge on this field. In 2001 I became professional tour guide, with the license issued by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Since then I have worked for many agencies as an independent guide and I have been meeting tourists from all over the world. During this fourteen years, I have also been organizing private tours, and working with ToursByLocals is perfect option for me. Since I grew up and have lived all my life in a touristic town, guiding has always been my dream. Very early I understood that it would be the most convenient job for my lifestyle, because I like history, archaeology, traveling and meeting different people and cultures, and the most important of everything, I love my country and want to help people see it's beauty and understand it's history and culture and at the same time, earning money from what I really enjoy doing; is a great feeling. I have guiding experience in all areas in Turkey, but my favorite tours are definitely those in the Aegean and Istanbul. If you woukd like to have a multy day tour in Turkey, you are allways wellcome to contact me to discuss your program. I am looking forward to meeting you in my country and showing you all its beauties! Tour Guiding License issued by The Ministry Of Culture & Tourism Of Turkey, license number: 09-005832. I am an owner of Felicity Travel (TÜRSAB licence no. 11471).

This tour gives you the freedom to choose which sites to visit and how much time to spend there as you hire a guide with a van and driver for all day. Ephesus is a well-preserved ancient city, one of the most visited sites in Turkey. If you see the Terrace Houses, you can imagine how the wealthy Ephesians lived. When you visit the ruins of the Temple of Artemis, you will hear an interesting story about the glory of one of the seven wonders of ancient times. You can visit the archeological museum to see some interesting objects found in Ephesus. Visitors interested in the Christian past can see the House of Virgin Mary and the Basilica of St. John. I'm very proud and happy that I was born in an area rich in important historical sites. Ephesus is a site I visit very often, so you can get updated information about recent excavations and findings. It is also the place we all visit on our primary school excursions, so on my tours I like to talk not only about the past but also the present in these lands.
-We will meet at the port or a hotel and head to the Ephesus area. -We usually spend about 2 hours in Ephesus, so that you can have enough time to enjoy the highlights of the site: Odeon, the Celsus Library, the Great Theatre, the Temple of Hadrian. . . As it gets very hot in Ephesus during summer, we prefer visiting it early in the morning. -The Terrace Houses is an area inside of Ephesus and you may decide to visit it, too. -Afterward, we usually go to the House of Mary and spend up to one hour there, and stop for 20 minutes to see the ruins of the Temple of Artemis. -A typical Ephesus tour covers these 3 sites, but you may decide to visit other places too. I can suggest you various restaurant options if you decide to have lunch during the tour. -At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to Kusadasi (20 minutes driving).
