I have lived near Ephesus for nearly 30 years, having settled here for my university education and fallen in love with the region. This land is truly incredible—the cradle where mythology, mathematics, astronomy, and ancient athletics were born. Ilker was hands down the best guide ever. We have used tours by locals all over the world. He was just awesome. We went places you always dream of…..some touristy some not. We got to go where they make Turkish rugs, leather products and art objects. This was simply the best tour to take in Kusadasi and of course Ephesus ! We started out as clients but left friends. We shall be back to Turkey and use Ilker once again.
Ilker gave us an amazing tour of Ephesus and area . He met us at the dock with a private vehicle so we were on site early before the crowds. Ilker communicated well with us before the trip so it was tailored to our personal needs. He even reconfirmed with us on the actual tour day what we did, or did not, wish to see. We highly recommend Ilker as your local guide. We had a wonderful day.
Very pleasant and smooth tour. We were travelling with elderly people and Ilker made it easier for them to visit. He offered choices and tailored the tour for us. Very good way to see Ephesus.
We can't say enough good things about Ilker. We challenged him by asking to see the same number of sites in one day that would normally take three days. He taught us so much while visiting Celsus' library, Apollo's temple, Mary's final resting place, weaving demonstration and delicious lunch, white clay ceramics demonstration, Turkish delights and olive oil tasting at a local spice market, and much more. We truly enjoyed the unique and interactive experiences that only could be provided a local guide!
5+ stars or more if we could give it. No way to find a more personable, professional, knowledgeable, versatile tour guide with his own company as Ilker. We spent a full day each in Bodrum and Kusadasi: he wasn't limited by time, only what & how much we all enjoyed each other, wanted to see, learn and do. Historical sites, local food, artisanry - we saw and did it all, ahead of crowds, well-paced, sensitive to our wants & needs! He became like family! Contract him!! He is THE VERY BEST! Taught us so much.
This was by far the best tour we had during our 3 week trip. Ilker is stellar. His knowledge, professionalism & humor made for a perfect tour. Ilker knows the area well, knows all of the history, & areas not usually visited. His communications were prompt. He was on time; the van was clean, new & well maintained. I wish I had more space than 510 letters to provide a more adequate review. We would HIGHLY recommned Ilker for his tours of both Ephesus and Istanbul. EXCELLENT TOUR AND TOUR GUIDE
Day 1: -First, we will visit Ephesus ancient city and inside of it, we will stop at Terrace Houses as a separate museum. -Then we will drive to Virgin Mary's house where she is believed to have lived. -After that a quick photo and information stop at the Temple of Artemis where only one column left from the ancient world wonder. -And finally, we will be visiting the ruins of Saint John's Church. - We will be having an optional traditional Turkish lunch and a visit to local artisans at various workshops nearby.
