Overview of your Dar Es Salaam tour

Bagamoyo town is a place “where the ruins meet the beach." Bagamoyo town is located 70 kilometers north of Dar es Salaam City, which is a 1 hour and 50 minutes drive from Dar es Salaam City to arrive in Bagamoyo. While in Bagamoyo, visitors will visit and see the historical sites of the Arab settlers as well as the Germans and British colonial history in Tanzania. A town was renowned for the slave trade and ivory during the 18th century in East Africa. Monuments, old churches, mosques, museums, and the college of arts are some interesting places to see. The architect of this itinerary lived in Bagamoyo town for more than 20 years. He knows the town's history deeply. He is ready to tell you every single story and all hidden gems. If interested in visiting, you can book the tour directly or email me.

I went on the Dar-es-Salaam walking tour and the Bagamoyo tour with AloysM. Aloys is very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the history and current affairs of Tanzania. He made the tours so interesting. I would highly recommend AloysM any day as a tour guide.

The tour is well constructed to take in almost all of Bagamoyo's sights in a day, whilst giving enough time for a rest over lunch, and having flexibility so you can spend more or less time at each location depending on your interests. Aloys is a highly professional and friendly guide, always ready to receive and answer questions and hear requests about what you might want to see more or less of, as well as helping you to navigate street salesmen! A great day out, highly recommended.

I spent my second day with Aloys in Bagamoyo. This town is located about 2 hours north of Dar. This is your classic historical site ranging from the 13th century forward. In its day Bagamoyo was the Dar of its time. The history of the town had a profound impact on all of Tanzania. What made this particular tour a great tour was having a guide that was able to answer all my questions. Aloys is a true professional and I was lucky to have been able to have him as my guide.
