I am a tour guide based in Moshi, Tanzania. I born and raised on slopes of mount Meru in Arusha a get way to the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro crater and Tarangire. I am a teacher by professional and holds bachelor degree in management of social development but I chosen to quit all other professionals and engage fully into tourism professional. I used to guide and organize treks in Mount Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru and safaris in Tanzania destinations of Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire, etc since 2012. Overview of your Arusha tour
Mount Meru 4562 meters above sea level is the second highest peak in Tanzania after mount Kilimanjaro and the fifth highest peak in Africa. Its located on Northern of Arusha town a tourism capital of Tanzania about 30km from city center. Mount Meru has been a good training point for those wish to climb mount Kilimanjaro next. Climbing mount Meru bring you close to the wildlife like buffalo, zebra, giraffes and much more while challenging your body to the high altitude. In doing so you will be accompanied by rangers for the safety. This climb will take you close to local Tanzanian's as you will be hiking with group of guide, potters and cook. Its opportunity experiencing a beautiful scenery of planet earth. As climbing with you will be my 20th time to summit Meru peak while summited Mount Kilimanjaro more than 100 times. Your safety will be guaranteed as I'm also wilderness first responder certified. The package include emergency oxygen cylinder, oximeter for oxygen checking and first aid kit.
Your Arusha tour itinerary
The itinerary will be as the following: Day 1: You will be picked up from your hotel/station by 08:30am and drive to the mount Meru starting point takes about 1. 30hrs. Getting there you will register your climb have lunch and start your hiking guided by ranger. You will overnight at Mariakamba Hut Day 2: After breakfast starting your day hiking to Saddle camp. You will enjoy hot lunch at camp and have a rest. In evening/afternoon you will do acclimatization to little Meru peak for you body to adopt the altitude, prepare your stomach for dinner and enjoying a view of mount Meru Day 3: We will start a summit climb at mid night. I takes 7 hours to reach the top in sunrise morning. You will spend few minutes taking photos before descending back to saddle camp for rest and brunch. After brunch wee will descending furthermore to Mariakamba for last overnight on Mount Meru Day 4: Finish your achievement by descending down to the gate. Your transport will be waiting to take you back to civilization.
