Flamenco lesson in Seville. Suitable for children

So I signed up for this as a solo traveler and I was a bit worried it would be weird. But it was amazing! I learned so much about the history of flamenco and its role in the culture here in Sevilla. And learning the dance was a ton of fun. Keep your elbows up though! Maria was an absolute delight and very clear with her teaching. I really felt like this was an incredible way to learn about Flamenco, not just learn the dance. I wish I could take more lessons. This is well worth an hour for anyone interested in learning way more about flamenco than you would at a show. Amazing!

Our entire family scheduled this Flamenco lesson and it was very educational and fun. Maria is a great teacher with lots of patience with the little ones. Highly recommend attending this class with her. It prove to be very helpful when attending a flamenco performance. OBRIGADA!

This was a wonderful experience! Maria was waiting outside of the studio for us when we arrived. She was so knowledgeable and friendly. We are a family of four--mom, dad, sister (11) and brother (9). She involved everyone and showed us a lot about flamenco. We learned a combination to take with us. Maria speaks excellent English with barely any accent, so my children understood her perfectly. This was such an unique experience. We had gone to see a flamenco show a few days beforehand, which was helpful because the kids had a good basis for understanding when she would reference techniques or sounds. There is a small bathroom in the back of the studio, too. It was really hot the day we visited, but it had some air conditioning to compensate. We all had a great time!

Maria is a wonderful person. She made the class fun which is no easy thing with a 12 and 14 year old boys who were shall we say skeptical. 19 year old daughter and my wife could have spent more time with Maria. Thank you for sharing your love for Flamenco!

Wonderful experience learning flamenco moves and understanding more about the history and reasons for the moves. Highly recommend Maria if you want an experiential precursor to getting more out of watching a flamenco show. Maria was really lovely and used stories to help us remember the moves.
