Is this work? Sure, but I'm cheating, for nothing brings me more joy than sharing the beauty and secrets of my country with visitors. Hi! Xoán here (that's pronounced like 'Séan' but with a little twist). I'm a geographer with a solid academic background and licensed official guide. I'm fluent in several languages, from my native Galician to English, with a bit of an Irish (Corkonian!) accent. So I'm crazy about culture, geography, nature, history and stories. Oh yes indeed, I love telling stories about how things were and how things are, trying to make sense of everything around us in the process, and answering all the questions you may have. Actually, I always try my best to give people a passionate but real experience when visiting a place, "living it" as a local would do. Do feel free to contact me for custom and off the beaten track tours too. PS. Full disclosure: I'm a teetotaler, so I might not be your best option for wine tours ;) Licensed official guide (Heritage Guide). BA, MA and MPhil in Geography, with an specialisation in Cultural Geography and Territorial Planning. Entrepreneur. I am a driver but please note that on some tours I may arrange for a separate driver, depending on traffic and parking restrictions in the locations to be visited.

Ready to discover the cradle of an ancient civilisation? Whether you are crazy about history, culture or nature, this tour will certainly surprise you in the most positive way. I am passionate about it all and I am sure you also will be by the end of this experience if you allow me to show you this fantastic places with a "local eye". From prehistoric dolmens and rock engravings thousands of years old to the Celts and the sheer beauty of Galician landscapes. Understand how antiquity and modernity mix and how meaningful the past can be in today's world. You will learn about a fundamental part of European history and hear stories that will fascinate you. From Donón sanctuary - where souls embark on their final journey to the Other World - to the Seixo, the "Sacred Mountain of the Celts", or the actual ground zero of European petroglyphs (rock engravings) between the picturesque village of Pedre and Campo Lameiro. How to miss all that? This is a treasure I can't wait to share with the world.
- We'll proceed from Pontevedra to Donón to enjoy a spectacular ocean view over the Cies islands and learn about the legends associated with the place. This is a perfect spot for the most amazing pictures. - We'll then drive back inland to Seixo mountain and visit its impressive dolmens. The trip from the sea to the mountains is well worth it in itself and, once there, we'll explore how modernity mixes (or not!) with tradition and the most ancient heritage. - We'll stop in the village of Pedre, beautifully built in granite by and for stonemasons. Either before or after that we'll have lunch and visit the Campo Lameiro archaeological park and the spectacular petroglyphs it houses. - The tour will end back in Pontevedra, although it must be noted that alternative starting/ending points can be arranged and of other activities and sites can be included depending on availability and weather. Itineraries can be adapted to traveler's interest: do not hesitate to contact me for a customized experience.

A modern comfortable car or van with air conditioning will be used for travel between locations (Citroën C8, Mercedes Vito or similar, depending on party size - please ask). In groups 6+ we will take a minibus with a dedicated driver (please ask, as this affects the final cost). Please note that when in said locations we will be walking on irregular terrain. We will encounter a particularly steep slope, short and perfectly "doable" for most but a bit demanding for some.
