Overview of your Motril tour

Granada was the capital of the last kingdom of Al-Andalus. I will explain you how the Islamic heritage is clearly recognized thanks to its architecture, traditions, gastronomy, . . . I will be also your key in the exotic and mysterious Alhambra. On another hand, I will show you how it would become a very important city for Christendom. To the point that the Catholic Monarchs chose it as the last resting place and ordered to build a magnificent Gothic temple for burial like is the Royal Chapel. There you will interpretate the glorious temple with its main altarpice, doorway, Renaissance crypt, museum with personal royal trousseau, . . . by the hand of an expert. On this tour, I propose to visit the amazing Alhambra and Generalife, the magnificent Royal Chapel and the labyrinthine streets of the foundational Albayzin neighborhood, that is considered World Heritage Site, with its typical houses ("Carmenes") and its viewpoints with overlooking. This was an amazing tour. José is a wonderful guide. Actually one of the best guides I have ever had in all my years of tours. Not only does he know his subject matter inside and out, he keeps the information at a good level an allows the guest to ask deeper questions (for which he will have the answer). He will move at the pace that works for you. José will also take care of all the necessary arrangements that will make your day carefree so you can focus on the tour and get the maximum experience from it. I truly wish I could take him on every tour from now on.

Our cruise had a 2 day stop in Malaga. On day 1 we arranged a tour with José Francisco to visit the Alhambra & Granada. It was a wonderful day, & we learned so much from him. Our day included visiting the amazing buildings, palaces & gardens of the Alhambra. His exceptional knowledge of history, culture & architecture of the area enabled him to help us understand & connect these sites to past centuries & other countries & cultures. We also visited Granada & saw through his guidance during our walking tour how the Islamic heritage connected to the architecture & designs of the many sites we saw. We had a Tapas lunch at a nice little restaurant & Jose also helped us find the best shops to find items made by local artisans. We would recommend that if you need a guide in this area to make your plans with Jose – you will NOT be disappointed!

Your Motril tour itinerary

Considering your access time to the Nasrid Palaces of the Alhambra we will manage time and order the tour. An ideal tour would be starting in The Alhambra and then visiting the city center: - Upon arrival at the port of Motril, your driver and the luxury vehicle will be waiting for you. -Transfer to Granada (1. 30 hour) - Arrival at the parking of the Alhambra where I will wait for meeting you. -We will visit the impressive Alhambra with all its places such as: *The Nazari palaces, *Alcazaba, *Medina, *Palace of Charles V *The Gardens and *Palace of the Generalife (3 hours) Please note General Tickets - Very peaceful walk downhill through the forest that surrounds the Alhambra (15 min) - Free time for lunch or shopping (1hour) - We will visit the surroundings of the Darro River and low Albayzin. Overlooking to Alhambra from its viewpoints (1. 30h) - Visit of the Royal Chapel (30 min) - Return to the port (1. 30 hours) I am more than willing to customize this tour according to your preferences
